Please tell me how you like the resort of MARS ALAM, and what excursions they offer...
I'm interested in ABU SIMBEL, and the ASUAN DAM ... as an impression of the excursions.

Marsa Alam is my favorite resort. Corals are great.
We were at the dam. The tour was not included in the list. The guide offered it individually. He said that from Marsa the closest road to Aswan was three hours. The tour was offered for $150. We brought down the price to 100. It could have been brought down to a smaller amount.
As a result, we drove to Aswan for 7 (seven!) hours. As a result, we went to the dam, where we were offered 15-20! Minutes to inspect it. The dam is impressive. Then we had lunch in Aswan on the Nile, there was a restaurant, we got on boats. I liked the restaurant. The coffee is wonderful. Well, the fries were good.
I liked Abu Simbel from the bottom of my heart. But again, time - it was catastrophically short. Everything was perfectly preserved there. We had a wonderful photo session there.
The tour also included quarries. There, everyone was struck by a "defective" obelisk, which they did not move, as it burst, and remained there forever. It would be interesting to know how they (obelisks) were transported.
In our time, it would be problematic to budge, and even then ...
My conclusion is that it's worth going to Abu Simbel. On the Aswan Dam, no. We left at 2 o'clock in the morning, and arrived at 23-30 o'clock. The usual sloppiness was present on the way.

The resort is good for relaxation and snorkeling (diving), but not for excursions.

I would like to recommend the rarely visited Temple of Horus for a visit. Preserved perfectly, a lot of impressions. But that's why I don't like excursions in Egypt - for their transience. I have never been to the pyramids, I still want to see them without haste.
There was a rush in the temple of Horus. I would like to see this and that, but where is there - the bus was waiting. Sorry for the detail, but my friend and I decided to visit the house of an unknown architect. So the guide stood at the exit and waited for us, and then we ran (!) Ran to the bus. As a result, somewhere in the steppe, the convoy was waiting for an hour and a half. And when I had the imprudence to tell the guide everything that I think about it, the boy fell into a stupor - how can a woman talk to a man like that!?
Again, this excursion was not in the price list. We were offered it tete-a-tete.

If you are interested in excursions, then consider the option of a three-day cruise on the Nile. Abu Simbel, however, also for extra. fee. But he's worth it. There are several other interesting places in the Aswan region, the island of Philae with the temple complex of Isis. There is a historical show at night. In general, I am campaigning for a cruise. We took it in a package with a tour, but you can also separately.

I support the cruise. I myself am inclined to a similar decision. And take Cairo for a few days, with Alexandria.

about excursions you have already been answered
but about the resort itself, I can add a little from myself
Marsa Alam is worth going to when you are interested
good snorkeling, yet there is a very beautiful underwater world
and he is so ... chtoli ... untouched (so to speak)
but here's what to do in the evenings - the problem ...
(not a bad way out if you are traveling in a big noisy company)
because nowhere to go outside the hotel
Far from nearest towns
Yes, and it will be a little expensive - you won’t run into every evening :(
