We were three years ago in Marsa Alam, a 5 * hotel (then it was called Sol Y Mar Samaya, now I don’t see such a name, apparently it was renamed).
Before (and now after that) we always rest in Sharm.
We were there at a time when the weather is always great in Sharm, and it was cold there - a very strong wind from the sea, a couple of days there were no sun at all and there was a feeling that it would start to rain, almost no one even swam ..
the hotel disappointed us, he hardly pulled at 4 *, the meat was constantly half-baked, the choice of dishes was small. But double rooms
outside the hotels at that time there were several shops about a kilometer away from them and nothing else, there was nowhere to go.
The sea .. well, how can I say .. there the hotels are all located in one bay .. the hotel where we were has both a pontoon and a sandy entry (sooo long to go to the depth). Other hotels seem to have only sandy entries, but this means that there are not many living creatures - you need to swim deeper into the corals.
Although aground, we often saw small stingrays and fish similar to flounder (or maybe it was it ..). They were afraid to step on them - the stingray could probably sting.
the wave also brings a lot of household garbage to the shore from the ships.
Overall, we were disappointed and will not go again.
