Tell me more about the beach!!
We are going to fly from January 30 for 10 days. Tell me, is it really possible to snorkel in bad weather? That is, it can’t turn out that you won’t climb into the sea because of big waves or some other ambushes! How is the beach?

The beach is very large and sandy. There are always a lot of free sunbeds, you don't need to borrow anything early in the morning. Wooden sunbeds under umbrellas with fences from the wind, but they do not move. On one part of the beach there is a pontoon on stilts. Very comfortable, wooden with a good descent into the sea. At the other end of the beach there is a lagoon where you can go into the sea from the shore without slippers. The descent into the sea is gradual, gentle. Opposite the gentle slope is a bar.
Reef. When descending immediately, the depth is 5-7 meters. The reef is beautiful, enough live corals. If you walk about 200-300 meters to the right of the lagoon, you can enter the sea from the shore and swim out into the semicircular bend of the coral reef. It is beautiful there. All corals are alive, beautiful, bright. When the wind and waves blow, the sea is a bit cloudy, but you can swim, there are no problems. In general, the beach and the beach staff are very, very pleasant in every way.

SUPER! Thanks for the information. Otherwise, you read about other hotels on Mars, because there the waves are almost 2 meters long and tourists are smashed against corals and carried away into the sea by the current :), or it’s unrealistic to swim up to the reefs during waves. 2 years ago we were in Sharm at the same time, the wind didn’t bother me much, it invigorates of course, but tolerable.

We were in November, there was no wind for only one day. There were waves, those who sailed away from the pontoon said that the wave was carrying to the reef. The water is almost always muddy, it is best to swim from 6.30-7 in the morning, then the water is clear. But if you wish, you can swim all day, you just see worse. The beach is big, there were enough places

So after all, when the waves are not so great? And how is it in the lagoon? I want beautiful underwater views and inhabitants, and not fight for life near the reef :). Or is everything not so bad?
аватар netts09
Everything is not so bad, just a suspension rises and the water is not so clear. Suppose at 14.00 in the lagoon with a wind from a distance of 2-3 meters almost nothing was visible. And you can take a closer look and see everything. Don't worry, whoever seeks will find))

And with the wind, you can swim only in the lagoon, or is it also possible to swim from the pontoon? And from early morning until lunch, as I understand it, the water will be clearer.

There were no storms with us, although the wind was quite strong. We swam where we wanted, no problem: either from the pontoon or where the entrance is from the beach. And the water was clear in the morning. If you are not the first time, then I think you will figure it out right away as best. Some swam away, some went to "wild" places. And for me, as a beginner, the lagoon and the arc at the pontoon were enough. The main thing is to look carefully and not rush. although some vacationers said they saw more in Sharm. Therefore, the taste and color ... But in general, I liked everything, and not only we alone. As you can see, the reviews are mostly positive.

I understand. Thank you, we will book and take the wetsuits with us!

Probably will not be superfluous all the same, not the month of May)) Have a good rest

Thank you. Photo report from me :-)!

It's my pleasure. In general, thanks to Papa74. We went at his suggestion, and we are probably not the only ones.

And I'm right here...

Think very carefully about sailing to "wild" places. Surprising is 1 answer, a person who was not there ...
I created a thread in the forum, feel free to read:
http://www.turpravda.com/forum/topic.php?id=1&t=26557
two posts (about the Shark and the Textile Worker) are dedicated to Mars.
I don’t know how to say it regarding swimming to a distant buoy (coral gardens are super), but after meeting a longfin shark (only now the adrenaline (almost a month later) has receded), I’m afraid I won’t advise you ... Stay near the slope reef, do not chase shots (sharks), I think "He who is warned is armed." On the topic of the death of a French diver last year in the waters of Marsa Alam (in the forum or I will give a link in a personal (not accepted here)).
There is a lifeguard on the beach, for show. Count on yourself and your strength. Around the "wild" - no one and nothing but the sea.
If the wind is during the day, you can not take the camera, the dregs are so that it is difficult to see for yourself.
In the lagoon, the same thing saves a little isolation from the waves, but partially, although living creatures ...
enough to provide a report all the same;))). In the evening, beware of getting sea "reptiles" from the sand - it's very dangerous (more dangerous than sharks):

We share our experience. In the morning we went as far to the left as possible and sailed to the pantone for two hours. After lunch, from the pantone to the right for an hour and a half to the cape. in a storm, they fought, the waves slammed on the ears, the impression and well-being were spoiled.
аватар Kasja23
I agree with Navalna. The wind is from the north, so it’s better to swim to the right from the pontoon, an hour and a half (from the fence to lunch). lagoon near the inscription ENTRANCE on the beach. Say hello to Karim, the lifeguard on the pontoon from Oksana and Dana. Get to know him, he "leads" you around the reef. -Italian)

By the way, more information - all (or almost all) Egyptians smoke. But the Koran does not allow them to drink. So, although presents in the form of bottles of alcohol are accepted with gratitude and pleasure, they don’t look so innocent, they can offend some very “faithful.” I really didn’t come across such.

Yes, uhzhzh ... I looked at sea horror stories. Here, of course, one must not yawn. So if (God forbid), this long-finned muck turns out to be nearby, it can only be saved by jumping onto corals and to the shore? So there are also a lot of ambushes there, all sorts of cones can be and other poisonousness. Although what to be, it cannot be avoided ... :)!

PAPA 74, you are on top as always! You have no equal! Until 3 am I watched and read ... as if I had been there myself. Thank you for the pleasure!
аватар papa74
Thank you!

I agree with all of the above. The only remark: it is completely irresponsible to say that you can enter any lagoon of the Red Sea without slippers. Read authoritative literature or Internet articles and you will understand that dangers no weaker than sharks can lurk under the sand. Berezhenogo and God protects. Good luck!
аватар Kasja23
I agree with both opponents. There are dangers. But we are discussing Fantasy here. And during the week of our stay, no one pricked himself in the sandy lagoon with hedgehogs and other bad things. Not everyone wore slippers there. -and not found! At night, they probably crawled out. But at night barefoot on the sand is really extreme!
