Marsa Alam is not Sharm! Although, if you have already been to KM, then there is some experience. Mars is characterized by winds (especially before summer), rough seas and currents. At the age of 19 - youthful maximalism, excessive self-confidence and ardor, can let you down :) Maybe I got excited, just having a son of 21 years old, I draw conclusions. Yes, young people are different ;)

Yes, I was in Fantasia a long time ago, in November 2009. I don’t know what has changed since then, but then it was a hotel in the desert - stupidly on 3 sides of the desert, on the 4th side of the sea :)
For snorkeling, it was great there, I don’t think that everything has deteriorated in 2 years. This takes a little more time :)
In general, I really liked everything then - the hotel, the condition, the food, the beach (there are few people, a quarter of the sunbeds are occupied), the staff ... In terms of entertainment, it was said quite correctly - think about whether you will be bored there, the hotel is not for youth tear-off public.

About Dussolei agree with the author of the question! Very dumb for 12 thousand. for one thing, apparently the hotel is very conveniently located and the service is not bad. Now about fantasy. I was in January of this year, there were no winds, I did not notice currents and waves on the sea. out of 7 days, 5 are almost calm until lunch. At the age of 19, you probably still want something else, but for me (I traveled alone) it was perfectly fine :) I healed my nerves, swam with a mask and fins, the risk is minimal, peace and quiet. The sea is very close to the buildings and the bar .. therefore, at least five times a day, get ready to swim. Now I'm looking at the new Hilton, but it's more expensive and the entrance to the sea is far away ... you have to choose Fantasia or Hilton ...

Yes! And about the political situation .. I’m probably one of the last who was there immediately before the start of the revolution .. I also managed to go to Luxor .. and they didn’t take it by hook through Safaga, but along the local road through the ancient city of Idfu .... So no one even hinted at some kind of tension .. the guide stupidly said here is President Mubarak, there is a sheikh in every state :) Marsa Alam is generally a village in which all this political fuss is up to the lantern ... if only there was work and tourists :)

Just arrived from this hotel. The diver himself is free and scuba. There is something to see and around the hotel. From the pontoon and to the right behind the white buoy and how much strength is enough. Both my friend and I saw gray non-dangerous reef sharks (the outer side of the reef from a depth of about 15 m.) There is nothing to look at to the left on the outer side. Turtles no problem. The Russians are 3 km away from us. saw manta rays in the wild.
