In Russia, in 2017, this law came out: If passengers travel together for the same purpose of travel, to the same airport of destination or stopover, then at the request of passengers it is allowed to apply to the baggage of these passengers the amount of norms (including norms for weight and size) of free transportation checked baggage for each passenger. One piece of baggage must not exceed 32 kg in weight and / or 203 cm in sum of three dimensions, the total number of pieces of combined baggage must not exceed the amount of free baggage allowance. From now on, when you go on vacation with your family or with a colleague on a business trip, you you can combine your luggage and take one common suitcase weighing up to 32 kg or distribute your 23 kg for each in some other way - for example, 15 and 31 kg or 22 and 24 kg.
