But it is not so simple with the account either.
A maximum of $2,000 can be exchanged.
I have accounts in three Egyptian banks. I fly very often, so I tried to change. I am obliged to change in my bank. But in fact they said that your account "is not strong enough" (I don't keep a lot of money there, because I don't believe in the stability of the local economy).
In general, in Egypt, as always, a complete mess - there is an order from their Central Bank for the exchange if there is a ticket, but for local sheep this order is like peas against a wall.
So for the exchange it remains only to use roundabout ways - to transfer pounds using a pound card (by forced debit, that is, where the bank has nowhere to go), and then credit them back to the dollar account.
