Is it possible to go to Hurghada now?
I am very worried about this situation there, so I want to know an independent opinion.

What does "independent" mean? Here, just opinions are subjective - everyone has their own))) Similar questions in recent years, as practice shows, give rise to a discussion of the following content: "to be afraid of wolves - do not go into the forest" (or in "Everything is calm in Baghdad") or "hand over your tickets and sit at home")) Everyone must decide for himself whether to go or not. And the answers will be something like this: "Everything is calm in the resort area. Stay in the hotel and do not go on excursions, and everything will be OK")

I completely agree with the previous opinion, but I want to add that in Hurghada there are not only vacationing compatriots, but permanent residents (I know a couple of married couples) who do not complain about the deterioration of the situation. Tourist areas are indeed always well guarded. Think. that of course this is a matter of chance, but in Moscow and other cities of the Russian Federation, you can also get into various critical situations. I personally will go on vacation for sure.

returned on August 12th. Rested in Hurghada AMC Royal Resort. Everything is calm, only hot, but this is not a hindrance for traveling. went to the island. snorkelling on the reefs. recommend. They even took a chance and went to Luxor 5 hours there and 5 back. through the desert and mountains. Very beautiful. rode the Nile in a boat. Impressive

We once rested in Sharm, when Gadaffi was overthrown and nothing! Only near the hotel there were soldiers with machine guns on duty! It will be calm in the tourist area!

Do not be afraid . I wish you a good rest. The people are friendly, we rested in the hotel in the Arabs. Everything is calm, no problems in communication. Ordinary people like us.

Galya, why is Gaddafi here? He is actually in Libya, not in Egypt)))

We arrived from Hurghada 5 days ago. Both on the territory of the hotel and in the city everything is calm, no disturbances. We went on a trip to Cairo. Again, no problem. We had a great rest. Everything is peaceful and stable there.

Because they were overthrown in Libya, then, naturally, it was calm in Sharm :))
But seriously, we rested in Sharm during various messes in Cairo and during the elections, everything was quiet too :))

Sorry, it was Hosni Mubarak of course.

Since the beginning of the riots with them and with us - we go to Hurghada every year! Since we didn’t watch TV, we didn’t know that a mess had begun there, and then with us ... We don’t go on excursions for a long time, everyone saw it, so we don’t go outside the hotel ... I think it’s better to hurry and go, so it’s not known what’s next ... According to rumors, extremists who are going to destroy the pyramids (there are some) are spreading by force towards Egypt, mined Palmyra ... and this is not far away ....

"to be afraid of wolves - do not go into the forest" - very suitable. Now it's bubbling everywhere. In the morning you don't know what to expect in the evening. A trip abroad is always associated with surprises, if not extremists, then unscrupulous TO ... or something else.

What's wrong with Hurghada?
In any resort town, we are calm. For reference, 6,000 Russians live permanently in Sharm, more than 10,000 in Hurghada. The statistics are old, but you can roughly imagine how many of us are here))))))

Now it's all over the place! It’s hard to go to Europe, where Arab refugees are all overwhelmed. In Kyiv, grenades were blown up near the Verkhovna Rada, more than 130 victims. Unrest in Turkey. So in my dacha, only the dog is worried, but after three houses the dacha was robbed, the family went to the resort. But ... the son is returning by car from Austria, the second is preparing for a cruise around Europe (however, calls to the ports of Arab countries have been canceled on cruises). And he himself is thinking where to go to take a break from our war in Ukraine. So, there is no peace on the ground.
And as for Hurghada, it was calm there even during the coups in Egypt, it is impossible from "golden eggs", i.e. tourists to refuse, they must be protected!!!

If the passport had not run out and there was money, I would have gone without thinking, even tomorrow! I don’t want to go to Sharm even in peacetime, but I want to go to Hurghada all the time - it’s soooo far away in the desert from all events .... we were calm there ... on all visits ....

Now there is a sandstorm everywhere, everything is in the sand.

I look at the answers given a year ago. I was there in December 2015 (Hurghada, Golden City). I want to say that the situation there was straining in terms of lack of people (the hotel was filled for 5-6 thousand for 250-300 people). The impudent Ukrainians gouged their brains with their politics and panache that there are no Russians there. All the water parks were closed, in the stores the Egyptians simply madly begged to buy something, but the prices were not reduced. At the airport, there were problems with the return of passports to my wife and I in a neutral line. A sticker on the bus that drove to the plane "Who is not alive is dead." But we were on the islands, swam, talked, took a tour of Hurghada (churches, mosques), were in the museum of sand figures. Now is simply not the best time to be there until the tourist system of trips to this wonderful world resort is fully restored.
