How long does it take to get to Luxor?
I really want to look at the ancient Egyptian palaces in Luxor, but I'm a little embarrassed by the long journey. How long does it take to get to Luxor from Hurghada?

About 4 hours

you can not worry. Been there 3 times. This is not a very tedious excursion. Pick up at 5-6 am, bring back at 21.00. You usually even have time for dinner. This is not a trip to Cairo to the pyramids, where 8 hours one way.

I agree with Amir1, no more than 5 hours. Some hotels have special pillows for excursions, it’s very convenient to sleep on the bus, take something warm to hide from the air conditioner. For example, I took a large towel from the room covered like a blanket.

And from Sharm el-Sheikh is the same distance to Luxor or more? How long does it take to get to Luxor from Sharm?
аватар Amir1
very far from Sharm. The bus is not realistic.

Really by plane. Excursion from SHES costs around 170 dollars, if I'm not mistaken, but from Hurghada 70-75.

I went to Luxor from Albatross. We were picked up at 4 am, given a dry ration in the restaurant (cucumber, 2 bananas, juice 200 ml., 0.5 water, bread, cheese and a terrible sausage). The trip is interesting. I was amazed by the dwellings of the locals who live near the Nile! Such slums! I really liked Luxor, we were also in Dendera, these are 2 combined excursions, so we got to the hotel at about one in the morning, but I didn’t feel very tired, for example! Have a nice rest!

The slums are creepy, it's cool that these wrecks are almost all with satellite dishes. It looks very funny.
And the trip from Hurghada is really not tiring. Probably, emotions override fatigue.

traveled in 2006, the trip took 6-7 hours. Picked up at 5 am, back at 23.30, late for dinner

from Sharm Tezturovsky hotel guide offered for 250 c.u. by plane, the same to Cairo
from Hurghada by bus - we left at 6 in the morning, returned at 22, BUT it was very hot in Luxor (September), just terribly hot

we were also late for dinner, but the restaurant was warned about our late return and they were waiting for us

THE DURATION OF THE TRIP DEPENDS ON WHICH HOTEL YOU LIVE IN. FROM THIS AND THE DIFFERENCE: 4 HOURS OR 6 HOURS TO GO. NOT TIRED AT ALL. STOPS MAKE AND BUSES COMFORTABLE. THE HOTEL FORGOT TO GIVE A LICENSE RATE. WHETHER THE GUIDE let us down, OR THE HOTEL ITSELF. BUT IT WAS FOR THE BETTER. WE FEED AS THE STAFF FEED: A HUGE TRAY WITH FOOD: AND SOUPCHIK, AND THE SECOND, AND DESSERT. THE EXCURSION AGAIN WILL DEPEND ON THE GUIDE. EARLIER THERE WAS TWO GUIDES: ONE ACCOMPANIED, AND THE SECOND ALREADY ON THE PLACE THE "HISTORICAL" GUIDE LEAD THE EXCURSION - IT WAS MUCH MORE INTERESTING. THOSE GUIDES THAT ACCOMPANY THE BUS KNOW ONLY THE REQUIRED MINIMUM AND THAT MISAGED. AND ANOTHER THING: I LIKE KARNAK TEMPLE MUCH MORE THAN LUXOR. SO TAKE A TOUR KARNAK TO LUXOR. NOT ONLY ONE LUXOR. JUST THINK 5000 BC, 3000 YEARS BEFORE CHRISTIANITY!
