Unrest in Egypt is very dangerous for us?
We're leaving February 9th. The political situation is worrying. Guys who arrived recently, tell us what is happening there?

"The state of emergency imposed by Mursi in the three eastern provinces of Egypt is also not observed. Cases of robberies and attacks on foreigners have become more frequent. According to experts, the situation in Egypt may finally get out of control. This is what the opposition leaders seem to be trying to repeat the scenario two years ago. Yesterday, opponents of the president called on their supporters across the country to go on an indefinite protest on Friday. This threatens large-scale clashes between oppositionists and followers of the ruling Muslim Brotherhood."
When you arrive, check with the locals where you can buy a couple of machines, there will be more chances to return home.

"In Hurghada there are barricades and tanks, in Sharm at night the Bedouins steal people from the rooms" - well, why don't you go ??????!!! ;))) but the fact that you fly over Syria does not bother you? The war is still going on, but how will they launch some sort of piece of hardware Earth-Air ....... Whether my acquaintances have just arrived - EVERYTHING AS USUAL.

We were at the end of December, there were also dampers, but the sea was calm. On the way to the hotel it is a bit scary to go, because they have almost no police now, and some incomprehensible Arabs without uniforms with machine guns on the border between each city are sitting at posts. For your own comfort, choose a hotel as close to the airport as possible.

The fact that people are sitting out of shape is just the tourist police. people in uniform are usually the army or ordinary police. everything is calm in the resort towns. Police posts in the resort towns were in the same form before the revolution. here are the rules.
alexl for more than 2 years everyone here is screaming about the revolution of fears and at the same time, millions of people rested quietly in egypt.
Russians don’t know that revolutions don’t end quickly.

Such questions are quite appropriate for tourists who have never been to Egypt.
I assure you, despite the "situation" I would boldly send parents, children, and friends there, because whatever the situation, planes will fly and hotels will work.

Returned from Egypt on January 12, traveled by ferry on the Nile. They were very satisfied. We visited tombs, temples, armed guards everywhere. We went by bus to the temple of Abu Simbel (300 km one way). The Egyptians have everything under control: they assembled a convoy of 15 buses (each 15 seats), in front of a large bus in it, along with tourists, armed guards, in addition, two cars from a submachine gunner as part of the convoy. Fortunately, security intervention was not needed even once during all 12 days of rest. The only negative impact of the revolution, according to people who are not the first time in Egypt, it has become worse food. Well, as they say, who goes for what. I wish you a pleasant stay and new experiences. Pavel.
