Does the tour operator really have cheaper prices for excursions?
I read reviews that it is more profitable to take excursions on the street, but is it dangerous? After all, there is no guarantee that everything will pass without incident, and the tour operator insures. Especially if we are traveling with a child.

Prices for excursions, of course, are more expensive with a tour operator, not cheaper, which is why many turn to street travel agencies. In the same Turkey, I would say that you can safely take tours on the street, but in Egypt, I would not risk it. We took excursions from our hotel guide (Tourtess tour operator) and were very pleased. We went on two excursions: Cairo (air) and Luxor (bus). And yet, as far as I know, insurance is valid throughout the country, regardless of who you went on an excursion with (this is in case you still decide to go through street agencies), although I personally do not advise, do not save on safety. Tour operators are trying to keep a good level of conduct and organization, but how street travel agencies in Egypt will behave is not known. Have a nice rest.

Of course the tour operator is more expensive! We took it on the street - we went on 2 excursions - to Cairo and to Ras Mohamed (we rested in Sharm). We spent $120 less money than the tour operator. Well, of course the choice is yours. We are alive and well. With us on the bus were people who took vouchers at the hotel. i.e. excursions are exactly the same.

dangerous than? Why do you think that Egyptian travel companies are worse than ours? Just do not take a tour from some uncle Ahmed, but in a normal large company, ask what bus will be, etc.
It is not the tour operator that insures, but the insurance company. And it absolutely does not matter with whom you went on an excursion.

as soon as you got off the trapana, the insurance has already gone to you, and until it again affects the trapezoid. and everything else is an invention of the hotel, they just order there too but get a percentage.

How many people have so many opinions, from personal experience, taking excursions in the city in good companies is cheaper and more often the service is better, but at the expense of insurance, it seems that no one reads it, but they take everyone’s word. And the tour is called, among other things, a beach tour and the insurance covers only the recreation area, and that's it.

Agree, how many people stshlko opinions. I know from personal experience (I have been to Hurghada 3 times) What is more reliable with a Tour Operator. We tried to take a trip to Luxor from a street agency, they postponed it twice, after that we refused their services (fortunately, the money was returned to us) But with TezTour, everything was as usual without a hitch. By the way, the Luxor street agency was cheaper by only 10 dollars with I don’t dissuade you from anything, but consider everything well, so as not to spoil your rest.

My opinion - with a child it is better not to take risks on long trips.
As for insurance, the hotel guide (orient?) directly demanded that we sign some kind of paper in which we would voluntarily waive insurance in the event of a trip with a street agency. We refused to sign, so he called us and made more "meetings". They barely got away from him, but did not sign anything. And I do not advise you.

I found an excellent comment about insurance; I want to pay attention to how to use insurance. Mom hit her foot in the sea ("hammered" her finger). We went to the first-aid post and she was given an injection and medicines. I immediately said that there is insurance. When I brought it, the doctor said that I would have to pay in cash, they do not work with insurance subsidiaries, only with European offices. I took a "time out" and went to study the insurance contract. Of course, it is better to read it BEFORE the trip .. I did NOT get through on the telephone numbers indicated on the contract in Egypt. Through a brother in Ukraine, they contacted an insurance company in Kyiv. At this time, the hotel guide accidentally called us and it turned out that the first thing to do was to contact him! (THIS IS NOT SPECIFIED IN THE INSURANCE CONTRACT!) He immediately contacted the insurance company, the girl wrote down our information, but said that since we did not contact them initially, we would have to pay ourselves.
And if they contacted them, the ambulance would come for free. Whether this is compensated in Ukraine - there are no guarantees. Thus, the injured mother's finger cost us $80. Of course, it was unpleasant and greatly spoiled the mood. But when I had already cooled down (I don’t swear

That's right, you need to check the insurance before the trip. At least highlight a few important points for yourself: 1. insurance with a deductible or not? Franchise is an irreparable part of the loss, i.e. this is what you will have to pay and the insurance company will not refund you
2. what should you do if you get injured, usually call the insurance company and they will send a car for you, or perhaps the insurance company has an agreement with the medical center in your hotel, then you will be helped on the spot
3. If you did not contact the insurance company on the spot, you must collect all documents, certificates, invoices for payment from honey. services and present them to the insurance company, after return, within the period specified in the insurance contract.
