If a child is traveling with you, ask if it is possible to leave him on the bus while visiting the Valley of the Kings, because there is a hill around it, it is not blown by the wind and it is very, very stuffy and hot. Not worth it take a child with you to the tombs, nothing to breathe with, closed visits to not a single hole.

From Cairo, I personally had a shock - I did not expect such dirt and poverty. To take a picture of the pyramids themselves, you still need to run around looking for an angle without a garbage dump in the background. And the Cairo Museum is really very good, but they give catastrophically little time for it, all buses arrive at the same time, tourists go head to head, like in the subway at rush hour. But they spare no time for "museums" and "factories" of papyri, oils, alabasters and other garbage.

Yes, Cairo is dirt, poverty and wealth nearby. IMHO you can go from Hurghada to Luxor, although I personally was not particularly impressed. Yes, that's interesting, that's all. We were lucky with the guide Ahmed Radvan, a true professional, a very emotional and interesting person. To Cairo from Hurghada is too far. We were in Egypt three times and went to Luxor twice! It's just super, we were only a week ago and it's nice to realize that we learned a lot of new things (we got a very good guide).
