It is better not to go to Luxor now. Egypt is restless. It is safe in hotels, on local excursions, but I would not advise you to travel long distances. You can fly to Israel, it’s fine there, but it’s better to refrain from going deep into the continent.

calm in Egypt, what the hell? No need to drive closer to the border with Libya.

We went on a trip to Luxor in April. everything is excellent. no problem. very interesting. True, it is very hot in Luxor, wear hats and put something on your shoulders - it is very easy to burn out.

To go or not - you decide! I want to share my impressions about the excursion to Luxor itself.
In general, she impressed even more than the Pyramids, although they also had to be seen, otherwise she would not have calmed down))
We took several bottles of water from the hotel with us (you can buy it on the spot, but we were not forbidden to take it out of the hotel). We went in the second half of June. Luxor is much hotter than Hurghada or Sharm. The air is hot and dry. Many were wearing hats, but I got used to them without them. Nothing. Didn't overheat. There is something to see! In addition to the "lectures" of the guide, they were given time to wander independently through the ruins of the Karnak temple. My husband and I climbed wherever we wanted - no one interfered. We looked, took pictures. In general, if there is an initial interest in this kind of excursion, then I recommend it! From the Pyramids, for example, we expected more. And there were no disappointments with Luxor! And one more thing: there is an amazing tour of Dendera + Abydos (Asirion, Temple of Hathor, etc.). There were no mass excursions there, so we went individually (from the tour operator, officially, but there were only us and the guide). That was something (in a good way)! But this is for fans of Antiquity, I guess.
