Have you tried checking reviews for this hotel? I am sure that it will say about the sea. For excursions - you can go by sea to El Gouna (Egyptian Venice). There is also a trip to the Sharm el-Naga coral reserve, but you (apparently) are not interested in snorkeling, I read about it for the first time " spooky corals.
