I do NOT recommend staying at the Sphinx. Why waste money in vain, it is better to spend it on interesting excursions.
King Tut also has normal rooms, I don’t even advise paying extra for rooms with a sea view.

I advise you to take excursions not from your tour operator, because it is very expensive.

We have been twice to Cairo and twice to Luxor. Sea of impressions. Excellent comfortable buses, mostly good guides.
Some people didn't like it though. For them, these are stones and only, in this case, these trips are tiring. This year they did not go, but earlier Cairo cost 55 days. Luxor - 35 (on the street). As far as I know, everything has risen in price by 10-15 days. Haggle!
If you want to see local life, then go to the fruit market (Dahar), the fish market (near the Marina embankment), the Coptic church (Dahar), the central mosque (Dahar).

Hello. I completely agree with iunik that Luxor and Cairo are gorgeous excursions, I was in Luxor with my daughter when she was only 7 years old, even the child liked it. The buses are really comfortable, there is even a toilet. I personally think that you will lose a lot if you don’t go for at least one long excursion (Luxor or Cairo). And I also don’t recommend street agencies for long-distance excursions. It’s only 5-10 dollars cheaper than TezTour, but the quality suffers. We were seduced and decided to save money on a trip to Luxor, street the agency took an advance payment, and then postponed the trip twice, we refused their services (lucky money was returned to us). I agree 100%, don't look for adventures. I took excursions from my tour operator and I was satisfied with everything - good buses, if we went for the whole day we collected dry rations, everything is debugged like a watch))) I went to Cairo with my 9-year-old son not at all tiring, very interesting excursion, a lot of impressions. we went to the water park in sinbad good slides, children's, family, extreme ... a very beautiful area. cool diving on a submarine under water to a depth of 20 meters. the whole underwater world is in front of your eyes - very beautiful, just mesmerizing. the king himself here as a hotel quite suited us, though we gave money for a room at the reception, but for this we were settled within 5 minutes, they prepared a folding sofa for our son. for $ 1, the boy cleaned our room to a shine, changed the bed and towels.
