We were also in El Gouna - not impressed, swimming and snorkeling on the way back, only 1 stop and not in the best place (at least I didn’t like it) If you want to see enough fish, you can take the usual Coral Reefs excursion all day in sea, 3 about 1-1.5 hours of landing on different beautiful reefs (we saw all exotic animals and fish - dolphins, rays, moray eels, awesome octopus and a thousand fish). We have been to Hurghada more than once and always take this tour (Coral reefs). But that's my personal opinion!!!

As for fishing, this is generally my main hobby in life, and I can say with full responsibility that the fishing that is offered when traveling to El Gouna is just a miserable semblance of fishing.
The tackle is rough, the weights are chosen incorrectly.
This is a kind of bortovushka, only without a fishing rod at all and with a thick fishing line, which at such a depth completely reduces the sensitivity of the tackle. Naturally, you can catch a fish, especially if you have ever caught it with a winter bait, but don’t count on mega-catch - it’s quite possible to catch a red mullet or a broomtail, but you shouldn’t count on a grouper or tuna;)
