Fish swim on the shore, and are there coral reefs there?
We are flying to Hurghada for the first time with my husband, we flew to Sharm el-Sheikh several times, we really liked it there, coral reefs immediately opened up and a stunning view of the marine inhabitants opened up, swam in the sea for hours. :) Please tell me those who were in this hotel, there on there are corals on the beach, what will you see?

There is NOTHING there! Worse than the Sea of u200bu200bAzov ...; (((
I was at the Le Jarrdine Festival (now Sunrise), 400 meters of solid sand and not a single fish ...

After Sharm El Sheikh, there is not much to see in the sea if you like marine life. In my opinion, Hurghada-(acquaintance) is more suitable for the first trip to Egypt, then Sharm-(parties and the sea) and only then Marsa Alam-(solitude with the sea) with pristine reefs and many large inhabitants.

If people have already bought tickets to Hurghada, then why upset them! My husband and I spent our holidays both in Sharm and in Hurghada, namely in Makadi. Of course, the coral reef in charm is the best, it is more diverse, but Makadi also has a good reef, there is someone to look at, and I would advise not to compare with the Sea of Azov.

Good afternoon!
Just returned, regarding reefs and fish: on the shore you really can’t see or understand the beauty of the Red Sea, there are corals, but dead ones (more like just blocks of stone), there are fish there, but there are few colored ones, mostly schools of gray fish and something something like gobies, but if you swim further, to a spit that can be seen from the shore (better, of course, with flippers, faster), there is a good reef with corals and different fish: every day I took a swim there for a couple of hours, I saw fish - parrots, and stingrays, and dumb, and other beautiful and large ones (unfortunately, I don’t know the name), it was even scary a couple of times, I saw such big fish, but there were no incidents. Of course, the reef is not the same as you can see on excursions to a paradise island or El Gouna, but I do not agree with those who say that there is absolutely nothing to see.
For children, yes, there is nothing special to show on the shore, but adults, if they are not too lazy to swim a little further, can enjoy the beauty of the Red Sea

"but if you swim further, to the spit ...", so the reef is FOR the spit?
If yes, please answer, how did you cross the spit? In fins? It's quite far away ... Or filmed?

Yes, exactly, the reef behind the spit, on the spit itself there is only clean water and white sand, small separate patches of corals, but dead, like near the shore. The spit is quite long, so I took off my fins, took it in my hands and along the spit almost to the end, put it on again and already swam along the reef, there is enough water to swim and not catch on corals. Back you can not remove the fins, because. swims faster and more comfortably back downstream. Take bread with you in a bag, then the fish quickly swoop in, but big and beautiful ones do not react to bread, you just need to look out for them

Have you heard of the stone fish?
аватар papa74
When I was there, it was 10 cm above the sand. It’s unlikely to be able to swim ... But it’s easy to step on a poisonous sea reptile ...
Be sure to go in slippers (or boots), then life is safe. And such carelessness can cost a life.

It all depends on the tide, it’s true, sometimes it’s impossible to swim when the water recedes, but in 12 days (I only swam there) I managed more than I couldn’t. I had boots, but I didn’t use them, because both boots and fins cannot be used at the same time, I have never met any terrible animals. The only thing was that she was careful about hedgehogs. And in general, I tried to swim carefully, without barbaric goals and carefully to nature, everything worked out!

""I tried to swim carefully, without barbaric goals and carefully to nature""....""Take bread with you in a bag, then the fish will quickly swoop in"" ???

You can’t feed the fish at all, then they fly in flocks and can accidentally bite off a mole, for example.

Probably, I was so unlucky - the fish didn’t “bounce” on me at all, even when I held out my hand to feed them closer, they timidly sailed away. So it's everyone's business - to feed or be afraid that they will "rush" and eat a mole;)
