We really liked the hotel - it is a real oasis of a pleasant and relaxing holiday, everything that we expected and received. I think that our successful choice of a hotel is connected precisely with this site, on which we received a lot of information, which was useful for making the right choice, which we did not have to regret.
We rested from 06/13/09 to 06/20/09. Everything was to our liking.
Firstly, we were pleased with the Pegas tour operator, who organized our arrival and departure without any problems. It should be noted that we liked their guides more than other guides on previous trips - two Russian girls and a local guy who spoke Russian flawlessly, so we didn’t have to guess what was at stake. Also, the information provided was not intrusive or overly entertaining, but rather helpful. So about this tour operator there was a pleasant impression both for the organization and for the prices.

Secondly, the hotel itself: everything is conveniently planned, a lot of greenery, flowers, swimming pools. Everything is very beautiful and pleasant. The reception is simply huge - the hall is gigantic and with a huge chandelier. We were immediately struck by this, as well as the fact that we were kindly received (they didn’t make us wait), treated us to drinks, immediately issued and put on bracelets, sorted out our luggage. Maybe this is due to the fact that we arrived after 14-00, but the impression of efficiency remained positive. In the same reception building there is an Italian restaurant (paid). There are also rooms for guests. But, the main rooms are in 3-storey buildings with patios throughout the territory, which is large enough for walking. Separate luxurious 2-storey bungalows are also being built on the shore. There are also one-story buildings near the lagoon itself (No. 8000). There are many other buildings on the territory: restaurants, a gym, a bank, a conference room, a theater and a bunch of bars. There is only one shop (there are only drinks, sunscreen and Snickers), but it doesn’t matter, because next to the hotel there is a shopping street where you can buy souvenirs and other goods. In general, everything is arranged in such a way that it is not crowded, but it is not a burden to move around either.
Third, the staff. Educated and polite. No vulgarity due to the fact that you are by the pool in a bathing suit, and not in a veil. No "khabibis" in the trail. You practically do not strain from intrusive attention (as in the city, airport or some other hotels). Although some of our ladies do enough to spoil the impression about themselves and other women. Well, it's not for me to judge them - to each his own. The main thing is that this hotel managed to avoid many unpleasant scenes, especially in the service sector (no one hid teaspoons, no one bothered, no one fooled, no one tried not to fulfill their duties). And most importantly, when we asked to change the room on the 1st floor the next day upon arrival (it was noisy and we could not repair the lock on the balcony door), everything was done quickly and free of charge. Building No. 5000 was immediately changed to No. 2000. It should be noted that, in our opinion, No. 5000 is somewhat worse equipped (the air conditioner only works from the key card and it is not possible to leave it on if you leave, the path is not well planned “bypassing”, which not happy in the heat). Only ours lived there. And the guard listens to the radio at full power at night (on the ground floor, through the wall, you can clearly hear the screams of local politicians, and then the muezzins). We liked case No. 2000 more (although the rooms are identical): closer to the restaurant and pools, the same distance from the reception and to the sea, and very quiet (mostly Poles lived). And it's so nice to look at my "beloved" Golden Fife and be glad that I didn't get there.
Fourthly, what is most important for me: SEA, BEACH, CORALS AND FISHES - GREAT! This is one of the few hotels in Hurghada, where there are corals and the opportunity to snorkel and admire the beauty of paradise.
The beach can be conditionally divided into three parts (if you stand facing the sea and with your back to the reception): on the right is a more deserted part (there are new unfinished bungalows and something like a lighthouse), in the center there is a magnificent lagoon. And on the left - the pier (and diving center) and part with corals. In general: a quiet and calm lagoon is surrounded by a sandy beach. And on the left and on the right there are still beaches with corals (for lovers). There is a place for bathing children and for "weak swimmers" - the lagoon is always without waves and with a sandy bottom. In my opinion, everything is perfectly planned. Sunbeds with "mushrooms" and wicker "screens" from the wind are always available - there are a lot of them and no one takes them "in reserve". There are several bars right on the beach (open at 8-00), there are showers and bathrooms. By the way, the bar in the center serves a light lunch from 12-00. Also, bartenders can prepare not only instant coffee, but also boiled espresso (you have to ask), non-alcoholic cocktails, they also serve fresh juices (mango, strawberry, guava and mixtures). In general - a complete baldezh and relaxation. And the fish are just fabulous! I have never seen such huge telosurs, boxfish, rhinos, parrots, stingrays and others in Sharm! Probably, it was the tourists who fed them, but now there is something to see. And the farther from the pier, the more remarkable the corals in the form of huge "caps" on the sandy bottom. Just "space" gardens with extraordinary inhabitants. An underwater camera is a must. The only “but” is not convenience with fins. There are few places where you can comfortably put them on and go into the water (I'm not talking about the lagoon, but about the part of the beach with corals). And getting out is also not very convenient - mainly along the iron boat ladder on the pier (keeping all the equipment in your mouth). I note separately that the coral beaches on the left and right require special shoes, although there were also daredevils without slippers.

NUTRITION. Very good main restaurant. Smartly planned. A long room with buffet tables and tables where alcohol is poured, from which small halls depart and a lot of places on the street around the restaurant. Tables (for 2.4, 6) and tables with tea accessories and drinks (various teas, coffee) are served in the halls. They fed wonderfully. Well, for example, there have always been several main dishes: meat, fish, seafood (pilaf with shells struck the imagination : )). A variety of side dishes (rice, potatoes and a separate table for cooking pasta with fillings). They baked pancakes, there was cold cuts and a grill. Vegetables were in salads, sliced, baked in batter, and separately cut according to your choice what you want: tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, radishes, etc. There were soups - once at once two types of borscht for “lovers”. But, I prefer their puree soups (especially white ones). Fruits, mainly in the form of "fruit salads": melons (white, green and orange), citrus fruits, grapes, dates. Watermelons were cut on the street. Twice there were days of "Arab cuisine". Musicians in national costumes lined up in front of the restaurant, the waiters also changed clothes. There were a lot of delicious local dishes, the names of which I don’t even know. But, I managed to try "cous-cous". In general, if you have a goal - to overeat, then you will succeed (as well as get drunk). And for dessert - sweets: cakes, pastries and mousses. And honey sweets on the “Arab day”!
Service. Everything was done quickly and accurately. Cleaning in the room - no complaints (tip left). Shampoo and shower gel were not provided here, there was only liquid soap. But there was a hair dryer and a bidet. The cleaner left daily a liter of water in a bottle (for free), so we have accumulated, although it is good to drink in this heat.
Animation. Children's animation every evening, regularly. There was a disco for those who consider themselves adults, but something is empty in the evening, maybe closer to the night and flared up, I don’t know. They also organized special parties near the reception with an entertainment program (there were also belly dances) - they were recorded at the entrance to the restaurant. There was water animation on the beach, they also offered massage and sauna. There were also some games (volleyball, big chess, etc. ). There were surfing, parachuting, boating, boating, diving and, of course, excursions. Excursions could be chosen both from the hotel guide and from local guys (mostly sea guys) on the beach (which is good - they are not very accessible, they were only sent twice). So here you can not be bored if you wish (alcohol, of course, was).
And finally, some subjective impressions.

It should be noted that our people are not predictable in behavior. I mentioned our aggressive nymphomaniac grandmothers (thank God there were not many of them - not the season). But, people on the beach: hedgehogs and stars are like a drum (barefoot on corals, although there is a lagoon! Wow! ). They did not have time to arrive and immediately flop down to sunbathe in the sun at about 12-00 o'clock. It is very exciting to watch how “snow whites” in 20 minutes in the African sun become “boiled crayfish” of a rich scarlet color. They are treated later, of course - the fumes can be heard from 50 meters away, but only this does not help. I assure you that even under the “mushroom” with sunscreen “30”, an excellent tan is formed. The rest sticks along the road from the building to the sea and the restaurant. So in the summer in Africa - be careful, otherwise you will burn! June is a very hot month here (I’m not talking about July and August at all), but if you wish, you can not burn out and not get a sunstroke. And since there are air conditioners everywhere and there are bars and coolers with drinks around, the heat is not badly tolerated. Of course, I will not recommend bringing children under 3 years old to Egypt during this period (for them and for you it will be a torment), but the prices....We planned to go to Turkey, but it turned out that for the same money you can go to the Egyptian 5! So why do we need Turkish 3 a couple of days longer? There is no magical Red Sea there!
The contingent of hotel guests is mostly Slavs (ours, Czechoslovaks, Yugoslavs, Poles). The Germans were not seen. A couple of Italians and French. And then the Chinese came in. Seriously. I don't know what they were doing here, because they didn't swim or sunbathe. They just walked around and took pictures of everything, like the Japanese (info tour? ). But, in principle, they did not interfere with anyone (exotic! ), Because they did not get drunk and did not behave outrageously, as it happens with ours. One of our strong guys, for example, celebrated the arrival by throwing his girlfriend in clothes into the pool, and then did not let her get out and danced the “belly dance” on the curb (his belly is charming - beer) until he fell down. But, it was so sweet, so homely... All the guests and staff were happy watching such animation.
Well, I will summarize - in general, in our opinion, the hotel deserves the highest praise - the vacation was great. In our personal hitparade of hotels, this hotel is in first place for 2009. I want to return to the "Desert Rose". Recommended for a relaxing and comfortable stay.
