I do not agree that it is undesirable to leave the territory of the hotel. We went on excursions with a guide, everything is absolutely normal, there were no such bad situations. We rode scooters, went on minibuses in public transport with Arabs, went on many excursions without guides - with local companies, everything is ok! Of course, be careful everywhere (after all, a foreign country), but not to go beyond the hotel - nonsense.

There is about "BIGFISHING" ... and if they offer fishing on a regular sea excursion (like Hamaat) - they will ask at the last stop for a swim or for "fishing" - then this is a national Egyptian bred fish :) They will issue a fishing line "finger-thick" to he will need to tie it up ... and you will catch a coral haruppa ... Attentive attitude was present here and there. The main thing is to treat the local population normally, with a smile, and you will be treated the same way. But fishing, as far as I know (we were in Sharm at the beginning of March), is prohibited in Egypt.

Prices can be 5-7 dollars higher than local small companies, but there has never been a single complaint about the quality of service and safety.
