Does it make sense to go to Tallinn?
We are planning a trip to Latvia for 4 days and to Stockholm for 1-3 days. But my husband really wants to go to Tallinn. How pointless or vice versa, is it right to combine everything in one trip? How good is the road from Riga to Tallinn. What can you see along the way? How much time can be devoted to Tallinn. And most importantly, is it worth trying to get to Helsinki on this trip? Who was-advise! Thanks!

On the way from Riga to Tallinn, there is a beautiful city of Pärnu, you won’t pass by it, and now there are ferries from Tallinn to Helsinki and Stockholm.

Thank you, now let's see what kind of town Pärnu)
We will be in Latvia, in Jurmala and from there to Stockholm. The question is, is it worth going to Tallinn at all. Maybe postpone Tallinn and Helsinki and its surroundings for another time, and now concentrate on Latvia and Sweden? What do you think?

I am never a supporter of galloping around Europe, but there is something to see in Pärnu and Tallinn, and you can go around Estonia in a day in a circle, especially on their beautiful roads.

there is a castle in Tallinn, there are beautiful cobbled streets, but sometimes "owls of the 80s" slip through. 2 days maximum I think is enough!

"scoop" sorry))

Thank you! It seems that they have already decided to go to Tallinn, but not to go to Helsinki. It will turn out in Tallinn for 2 days.
Yes, we are by car, but we have disagreements, there are already five of us)))
And what road from Kyiv to Tallinn do you recommend? Through Vilnius, Riga or through Mogilev and Polotsk? I like the option of going there one way and back the other way. But for some reason it seems that through Mogilev is not the best idea ... Someone went like that?

Tallinn is a fairy tale, but in winter it is more magical than in summer, Pärnu is an awesome place, the sea, water parks, a very nice town.
Helsinki - nothing to watch, impressions for 2-3 hours. Stockholm is overflowing.
Although you can stay longer in Estonia, good attitude, delicious cuisine. Shopping.

hatinka, we also planned to go first through Mogilev to Riga, from there to Tallinn, and back through Vilnius. But since we went out in winter, nature made its own adjustments: the Vitebsk highway was covered with snow and we had to change the route. Both there and back went through Vilnius. Vilnius is a very pleasant city. It is worth staying at least for one night. In addition, it is the cheapest of the three Baltic capitals;) You will go in the summer, you are not afraid of snow, so I think you can safely start from Riga. I note that between all these cities about 8 hours of travel time (in winter). Vilnius is located 2-3 hours drive from the Belarusian border. If you have a car and it becomes boring in Tallinn, I advise you to go to Tartu. A very pleasant town with a rich history. I can send you a link to the pics. Yes! In Tallinn, be sure to visit Kadriorg and Pirita! :) By the way, did you know that Tallinn is the cultural capital of Europe this year? You can find the program of events and plan your arrival to the festival of flowers or to the sailing regatta. . .

Oh thank you! The cultural capital is good, I’ll look for a program, I think there will be something interesting.
But what about such places as Rundala (palace), Cēsis (castle) and Silugda (I don’t know what is there, they advise very much).

hatinka, to be honest, I don’t know. Wasn't :) Tell me if you come :) The Baltic States is a magical place! There are so many interesting things! By the way, there is a lunar eclipse happening right now! Do not miss!:)

Definitely worth a trip to Tallinn. A beautiful city! For some reason, it reminded me personally of Prague ... with its cozy cobbled streets, pleasant atmosphere. I also advise you to go to the cafe (Three Dragons) in the center of Tallinn, which is located in the Town Hall building itself. I have never seen such unusual establishments: earthenware without cutlery, from food - only venison soup and pies with wild boar meat - a very unusual cafe !!! And from Estonia, on a ferry across the Gulf of Finland, we went to Finland. Firstly, I am simply delighted with the ferry ride, and secondly, Helsinki itself is an unusual, slightly cool town.
