I have always been interested in the question: where did the Tallinn cats go? Tallinn is a seaside city, so you can’t do without cats here (those who have been to Odessa and Istanbul will understand me). Visiting the beloved city again and again, I did not find a single cat in it (well, except in the pictures in souvenir shops). Dogs, ducks, swans and squirrels came into my field of vision, but cats did not. I already started to think all sorts of bad things about the Tallinners who do not like cats, but, fortunately, I was wrong. And the best proof of this is the cat-cafe "Nurri", about which I will now share my impressions with you.

The cafe opened in October 2014 and quickly gained popularity among Tallinners and visitors to the city, despite the fact that a little less than a month had passed since its opening. The purpose of this establishment is that visitors have the opportunity to communicate with cats, admire them and even play and pet them (if the cat wants to). It has long been known that cats are amazingly able to positively affect the functioning of the heart, relieve feelings of loneliness and improve mood. Perhaps that is why the cafe is filled with visitors of different ages, because in modern city life both adults and children suffer from stress. By the way, the latter, despite the strict rules, cause particular concern to the inhabitants of the cafe. However, cats - like people - have different characters: someone will hide, and someone can stand up for themselves. So before going to a cat cafe, instruct your child about the rules of behavior with cats (cats cannot be forcibly stroked and chased after them) in order to avoid unwanted injuries.

All cats here are taken from a shelter, they are vaccinated and well-groomed. If the visitor finds a common language with the animal, he will be able to become its owner, thus the cat will find a new home. The owners of the establishment try to select sociable and affectionate animals that appreciate society, because not every cat wants to be in the center of human attention. The interior of the establishment is thought out taking into account the wishes of its meowing "employees": the room has large windows with soft pillows and scratching posts on the windowsills - it is more convenient to watch the events on the street. And under the ceiling there is an ingenious system of houses with bridges, transitions, and there are also a lot of different toys that both cats and visitors play with rapture : )

As befits any decent establishment of "public catering", in the cat-cafe "Nurri" you can drink a cup of coffee or tea, as well as have a light snack. The menu of the cafe is not very extensive, but you can also buy food to feed the local cats (it is strictly forbidden to feed fluffies from your plate).

In general, in all respects, "Nurri" is a nice place, recommended for visiting by all cat lovers and "Tallinn maniacs", who are interested not only in the pointed Tallinn turrets. It’s just a pity that the entrance to the cafe is paid - 5 euros (inserted into the bill), but what can you do for the sake of a rumbling one hundred percent positive! : )

Cat cafe "Nurri" is located near the historical center of Tallinn at the address: Tartu mnt. 24, near the "Stockmann" store.

I wish you all pleasant travels and vivid impressions!
