most people rest in punta cana, (transfer is closer or tour operators are better friends with punta cana, I don’t know), and then tourists go on an excursion to the Caribbean coast and admire the extraordinary beauties. Annabubliy, I can advise from my own experience, as I have been to La Romana and Punta Cana and more than once. In La Romana, the sea is almost always calm. Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus is a good, compact resort. What else I personally like about Iberostar Hacienda is that they have an artificial coral reef on the beach without swimming behind the buoys, you can swim for hours and watch the fish. What I don't really like about Iberostar Hacienda is that the resort is about 11 years old and the buffet restaurant is not air-conditioned, but many people like it the other way around. As for Punta Cana, there are different beaches, there are with a calm sea, and there are where the waves are observed all year round. For example, in Excellence and in Hard Rock Resort there are always waves, we could not swim there. But for example, in Iberostar Bavaro, Ocean Blue and Sand, Paradisus Palma Real, Bahia Resorts, Majestic Resorts, we swam quite calmly and the sea was magnificent, beautiful in color and with white sand.
