Blue Planet Aquarium, Copenhagen
In March of this year, the new Den Blå Planet Aquarium (The Blue Planet) opened in Copenhagen, which is the largest aquarium in northern Europe. http://www. denblaplanet. dk/
But, as for me, it is worth evaluating not the size and filling, but the appearance. The designer of this truly chic piece of architectural art is 3XN (http://www. 3xn. dk). The creators wanted to involve the visitor in the fabulous underwater world by recreating the whirlpool. I think they succeeded! Huge pools near the entrance and a path leading you straight to the center of the funnel ...and you are in anticipation of what is inside? Perhaps Andersen's Mermaid?
53 aquariums, a tropical area, an open area on the seashore where you can admire fur seals, small children's areas and, of course, a food area and a small outlet store.
Visiting the aquarium, of course, is paid. The price is a bit hefty:
when buying online: 144 kroons (20 EURO) for an adult and 85 kroons for children from 3 to 11 years old;
when buying a ticket on the spot: 160 kroons (22 EURO) for an adult and 95 kroons for children from 3 to 11 years old.
You can also buy an online ticket on the spot, standing in line, as there is Wi-Fi available. The only catch is that the site currently works in fact only in Danish.
Getting to Den Blå Planet is pretty easy. You need to focus on the yellow metro line M2, take it to the station Kastrup (Kastrup) and go towards the sea along the street
When a miracle of architecture appears in front of you, similar to a silver flower, it means that you have already come!
And then, with your mouth open, you can walk around the nooks of the underwater world...
Each aquarium has a display, some of them are interactive, you can turn on the backlight in the aquarium.
For children there is a small area where you can touch shellfish and sea urchins.
It was very hot in the tropical zone, that's why they are tropics. The zone consists of two levels. The upper one is with caged birds, concrete trees and small waterfalls.
The lower one is a glazing through the looking glass, where you can see tropical inhabitants underwater.
Huge fish that look like catfish! When they were fed, they rushed to the food with lightning speed and flopped into the water with a loud rumble!
Many aquariums are half empty, there are generally empty ones.
A huge aquarium with sharks, hammerhead fish, stingrays and many other animals. Here you can sit and just enjoy the underwater beauty! Or sit in an underwater tunnel and pretend to be a diver =)
Separately, it is necessary to allocate an open area by the sea. There is an exit from the cafeteria and from the aquarium. You can sit with a cup of coffee, breathe in the sea air and look at the fur seals that are fed by the aquarium staff, while arranging a whole show.
The Danes really did their best and brought a twist to the monotonous Copenhagen. Those who travel around the country with children should definitely visit the aquarium!
