The first cat cafe in Copenhagen.
Tired and satisfied, after a busy day we returned to our Copenhagen hotel. And suddenly, in one of the windows they saw ...a cat. Then another, and another...Yes, it's a cat cafe! And here is the sign "Cat cafe "Miao" - of course we couldn't pass by! : )
Everyone loves cats, and the Danes are no exception, so it’s even surprising why the first cat cafe in Denmark opened just recently - in August 2014.
A prerequisite for visiting the cafe is an order for at least 50 kroons / person (approximately 6 euros). For this price you can get a cup of coffee and "dessert of the day". Orders must be made at the bar at the entrance. The menu of the cafe has not only sweet, but also more serious dishes: salads, sandwiches with the "Miao aspect". All the food here is "environmentally friendly" and cooked to order (a subject of separate pride of the local cuisine), so get ready to wait for the dish for at least half an hour, but in the company of cats, time will fly by unnoticed.
The cats here are large, well-groomed and impudent. Apparently, the Danes approach the upbringing of cats in the same way as the upbringing of children, allowing them to literally sit on their heads. One has only to gape a little, and you will find that a fur cat's head with sad and honest eyes looms over the plate, and a dexterous clawed paw is already reaching for your long-awaited "Miaoffin": ) These and other "pranks" cause only a smile of tenderness or , as a maximum, a reprimand in the form of a “reproach” with a finger in the style of ours: “Ah-ah-ah, how embarrassing! ” Yes, by the way, given that it is strictly forbidden to feed local cats (they don’t even sell food for feeding cats here) , then you should carefully monitor your plate not only out of love for your own stomach ...
When I wrote about a similar cafe in Tallinn (http://blogs. turpravda. ru/LaFifa/105768.html), readers had a couple of "hygienic" questions about cooking and cat litter.
The owners of the Copenhagen "Miao" specifically draw the attention of customers to the fact that the kitchen and the cafe hall are located not only in different rooms, but also on different floors. Thus, cats have limited access to the kitchen. The waitress, she is also a bartender, she is also a caretaker of cats, constantly cleans herself with a special roller and wipes her hands with antiseptic gel, but the shameless behavior of mustachioed pets, which I described above, nullifies these efforts. Wool, wool, wool everywhere (apparently this is the very "Miao aspect") - "cat lovers" will feel at home : ) A small cafe hall, furnished in the style of a children's room, is conventionally divided into two parts: where people eat, and a "living room" where you can play with cats. In the "living room" all the cat "household" is located: houses, toys, a toilet ...However, cats go everywhere. Being in "Miao", we became unwitting witnesses such an incident.
One of the cats really liked the young visitor, and he decided to "mark" her rag handbag with a personal "pee". Noise, hubbub, fuss, paper napkins and a can of antiseptic liquid on a purse ...As a result, the "hero of the occasion", who coolly observed the results of his "deeds", instead of a slap on the nose with last year's newspaper, received a portion of additional kisses from the "injured" and reproachful "ay-ay-ay" with a finger from "hostess". This is Copenhagen! Live easier, everything natural is not ugly! Danish cats have learned this "science" well, so don't leave your personal belongings unattended while in the first Danish cat cafe; )
As you know, "animal" cafes penetrate into Europe from Asia, so there is nothing surprising in the fact that the founder of the cafe comes from China, and her name is Miao Hanson.
As the local press jokes, it is still a question whether Miao named the cafe after her name, or whether it is fluffy pets that glorify her name in their "songs". You yourself can look for the answer to this question if, while in Copenhagen, visit the Miao cat cafe, which is located near the City Hall, on Hans Christian Andersen Boulevard 5 (H. C. Andersens Boulevard 5).
I wish the readers and creators of "Turpravda" pleasant travels and vivid impressions, as well as all the best in the coming 2015! : )
