Why do you need to prove anything to anyone? An invitation or a hotel reservation is only needed when applying for a visa. Have you been asked anything in the previous two times in Sweden?

You must always have a hotel reservation with you, they may even ask for it. Even more than that - if you fly by plane, then more than 50% of the probability. The day before yesterday, flying Kyiv-Munich, the hotel reservation was asked from everyone without exception. They almost never ask, only if you go by bus.
In your case, you need to have a clear explanation - we will live with friends. If friends send a letter by e-mail, the address will be indicated there - print it out, this should be enough.

You need to prove that you will live with friends, and not somewhere under a bridge or with the Syrians. Now the situation in Europe is like this, the police and inside European countries stop and conduct checks.
The daughter-in-law in Nice was stopped by the French police on the embankment and politely inspected (documents, handbag).

The presence of a visa does not guarantee the right to enter, it is written on the websites of the embassies. And I heard about cases when they turned around at the border due to lack of armor. Although they never asked us for papers, except that they asked “where will you live”? So I would at least print a copy of the letter with me. And it’s better to let friends send the original with a signature, in free form.

Where the world is heading... Previously, they never asked anything, except for the purpose of the visit.

My friends sent me their passport details, phone numbers and full address of residence. The return ticket was also printed. Before that, the annual Polish Schengen was rolled back, the only thing they asked was the purpose of the visit. In my opinion, there is a human factor, as well as a passport .... (presence of visas before this and their number) Over the past 2 years, they have never asked for a hotel reservation (Spain, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Germany)
But at the same time, I know firsthand about the cancellation of visas when crossing Germany (but with non-departure multiple visas (Polish ... and some of the Baltic ones)

If you didn’t ask anything before, except for the purpose of the visit, it’s just luck + a good story in your passport. Riding without a printed reservation has always been a lottery.
They had the right to ask and could have 5 years ago, they can now. I am in Schengen for the 3rd time this year, the first 2 times they didn’t ask me anything, they spanked the stamp and that’s it, so I can’t say that the situation has changed in recent times.

By the way, in Schengen itself, in my case, when transferring to intra-Schengen flights in Munich, there is no passport control at all. I left after the passport check upon arrival in the "dirty" zone, then only 1 time I presented my boarding card (without a passport) at the control during the inspection (and then, they only checked the gate number so that I would not go to the wrong gate), and when boarding the plane - I put the boarding pass on the scanner and the doors open - that's it. Fly whoever you want.

Thank you very much for the answers, I decided to call the German Embassy to be sure, and asked what to do?! They said that friends can send an invitation in any form by hand with a direct email signature - this should be enough according to them.

If you have already rolled back the cartoon, then the probability of checking bookings or money is much lower than if you have a one-time visa or travel through the cartoon for the first time. This is from personal observations (I and many friends have 2-5 year visas now, and earlier they mostly interrupted for 1 brief periods). So, since 2013, my husband and I have not been asked anything at the border control at the border control (except for the first entry on a visa by car). And earlier, with 1 brief, even seeing the passport all in visas and stamps, they still often asked either about a return ticket or about the purpose of the visit. But so, lazily and without enthusiasm.
Advice for every firefighter to have a printout of the letter where your friends invite you and where exactly, ideally in general.
Most likely everything will be fine with you, you are not doing anything non-standard.

I had a similar situation with a Portuguese visa, I was visiting friends in Poland. The officer showed the address of friends and phone. The officer noticed "This is not a reservation," I explained to him that this was the address of friends and he let us through.

Hotel reservation is desirable.
An open multivisa now does not guarantee entry into the Schengen area.
