Who visited this castle, tell us in a nutshell about the tour. Does it include a visit to the interior and is it worth choosing a tour if the goal is only this object.

I have visited this castle several times. The price usually includes access to the interior halls, although, in my personal opinion, the castle is much more beautiful from the outside than inside. If you go in the summer, be sure to ask the guide to go to the bridge of Mary, from which there is a gorgeous view of the castle itself, but from autumn to spring this bridge is closed to the public. My husband and I were the first to choose a tour with visits to Ludwig's castles and were very pleased. Opposite the castle there is another Hohenschwangau castle, against which very beautiful photos are obtained, such a bonus is nearby in Neuschwanstein.

By the way, in the tours of some operators, this tour includes a visit to the town of Oberamergau. this is a magnificent village, where all the facades are painted with drawings of fairy-tale heroes.

Thank you very much for the prompt response. Just looking through and thinking what kind of town this is.

Regarding Oberamergau, I join, it’s very worth it! And Linderhof is still a very beautiful place, also near Füssen (Neuschwanstein). It is beautiful everywhere in Bavaria, so this tour is worth choosing!
Look at my photos in this review (a review about Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which is unlikely to be useful to you, but there are all these places in the photo).
You can’t take pictures in the castle itself (Neuschwanstein), so only the exterior ;-)

And I really liked the interior rooms. Everything is a little exaggerated, everything is a little too much:) the story of King Ludwig explains this feeling.
Such a nuance - sightseeing buses do not drive up to the castle, the ascent from below is quite long and steep. They offer either a local bus, or on horseback. We boldly decided to walk, it turned out to be very tiring, especially if the weather is not good. Now I would definitely go upstairs on something, but you can already go back down yourself.

Thanks a lot for the replies. The advice about climbing up to the castle is very helpful. Remembering the climb to Karlstejn in the Czech Republic, I would rather choose something to drive up to.
