The room is small, about 15 square meters, but it has everything you need. Two large windows overlook Sadovaya street,
the view from the windows is wonderful, on the right side you can see the domes of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, which can be reached in 5 minutes.
However, due to the fact that the opposite buildings are close, the sound resonates and you can very well hear people walking along the street and passing cars starting at 6 in the morning.
Adds noise strongly creaking floor, not only this, but also neighboring rooms. The next day after arrival, we tried at the reception to change the room to a quieter one, but were refused, although on the same day the neighboring room S-401 was vacated, which remained free until our departure. A similar situation with noise was last year in the hotel Krivan, but there the room was replaced instantly.
As for food, it deserves the highest ratings both in quantity and quality.
Treatment at the hotel is the most minimal, and it cannot be said that it is effective. There were three procedures per day, Saturday and Sunday without procedures. True, at the reception on the day of arrival they gave 3 coupons for visiting the city pool, located a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Hotel doctor Olesya Kovacs said at the reception that the number of days for treatment should be at least 21. Of course, for Czech, German or Israeli pensioners
the amount of payment for these days would not be difficult, but for the Russian it is problematic.
In conclusion, we can say that it is quite possible to visit Karlovy Vary to drink water from springs, admire the architecture of houses and visit the service in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, but it is better to be treated at home, it is cheaper and more reliable.
The hotel itself is renovated and very decent, at first glance you can’t say that it’s three stars. The rooms (which are not luxury, but cheaper) have not been renovated, but they are clean, well-groomed, without frills.
The food is amazing for a 3 star. I won’t say anything else, everyone has already said so before me.
Personally, I singled out the medical base the most. She thought it over with great intelligence. There are no crowds, there are just enough employees so that everyone has enough and so that they do not stand idle. The procedures are done with high quality, the baths are all shiny, they are washed 10 times a day, the towels are neatly folded in a pile. Where disposable supplies are implied, they give everywhere. Here, many wrote about savings in other hotels on procedures, and so, here I personally did not notice this savings.
Now about the sad. I saw that many wrote similar things, but I'm not too lazy to repeat... Sometimes it's very embarrassing for people. Such a stupid feeling when someone does god knows what, but you are ashamed. Food from breakfast is carried out by some individuals in kilograms. Moreover, all this is done with a very important look “I paid, everyone owes me”. In the elevator, sometimes you hear enough of this from lovers of self-diagnosis, that treatment is not a cure, that the water was prescribed “wrong” and further down the list. During the procedures, I met a woman with a very businesslike look a couple of times, who “just ask for a minute”, given that everyone has a schedule and that there is a sign in Russian on the door in large letters “do not knock, you will definitely be invited”. Of course, not all of them are like that, but unfortunately, such personalities shine very brightly... By the way, I have never heard that any of the staff responded to such behavior in the same way, on the contrary, they calmly and even with a smile tried to explain something, for this respect is separate.
In other words, the hotel is very good (before that, we rested in sour cream vysograd 4 stars, but in many ways this hotel is ahead of the English court, in sour cream, the advantage that there are fewer people). On the other hand, the number of people indicates the popularity of the hotel. If I decide to return to Karlovy Vary after a while, it is very likely that I will choose this hotel again, but maybe I will go in winter, when there are fewer people.
Actually about the hotel. They already wrote here that when they had just arrived and saw the territory, they were horrified. Everything is dug up, building materials are standing, wires are sticking out here and there... We think - hello, we have arrived! We go inside and the mood rises: a huge and very elegant hall, the first impression: rich! At the reception we are greeted with smiles, explain the situation, apologize. The meaning is this: inside everything is done by 98%, and outside - almost nothing because of the abnormal cold weather and precipitation... We register, we are given short information, they say quickly where everything is and are escorted to the room.
The halls are amazingly beautiful. Chic carpets, chic doors - for 3 stars this is a huge level! The elevator, about which everyone wrote, was replaced with a new one, it's hard to imagine that something terrible was in its place, because the elevator is absolutely modern, silent, fast "flying".
The room is normal. That is, none. Clean, bright (we had a view of the garden street), but no more. Nice new TV in the room, big. Cleaning quality, daily.
The restaurant is just amazing. I mean the kitchen of the restaurant. Just five plus! Everything is very, very tasty! Dishes are restaurant quality. Ate very tasty and never had heaviness in the stomach. By the way, while talking with other vacationers, we noticed that if anyone had any complaints, then the kitchen was praised by everyone absolutely and without exception.
The staff is pleasant. Everyone is smiling, friendly, I would like to single out Masha in the restaurant (a wonderful girl! ), Lyudmila the masseuse - that's a pro, so a pro! As well as the administrator Martin - both a person and an employee.
Well, now about the most important thing, that is, about the treatment. After all, that's what we went there for. Upon arrival, the next day we were received by a doctor, Mrs. Kovacs. Pretty young (35 years old), but very attentive, educated and most importantly a professional doctor! At first, I was personally shocked (I got used to indifference in the eyes of our doctors), and she asked such and such that it was clear - she knows her business and she wanted to tell everything and talk with her longer. Pani Kovacs prescribed me a drinking course, recommended procedures. (Then her husband went to her - he was also pleasantly surprised). And so our treatment began. Professional. Pleasant. Relaxing. WORKING. Understand 3 years without vacation make themselves felt. But let the first one throw a stone at me, who, having tried it on himself, does not agree with me - Karlovy Vary treatment led by water WORK and work instantly!! ! Masseuse Lyudmila is a great professional with golden hands. She, of course, shook her head over my back, but in 2 weeks she brought her into a state that I had not felt for several years. Ludmila and Pani Kovacs are probably the people who should definitely come to the English Court for treatment. The medical department itself is absolutely new, clean, modern. It doesn't feel like a hospital even though everything is decorated in white.
Considering all of the above, one thing can be said: as long as such cooks, such doctors, such masseurs and just good people work in the hotel, crowds will go there, mark my words! Furnishings, repairs - this, in this case, is a secondary matter, but, you see, how nice it is when it takes place.
Will we return to the English court? YES! YES! YES! But already in the warm season, when you can fully enjoy the city itself, and not just the hotel.
I recommend!! !
The hotel is located on a quiet beautiful street Sadovaya, to the springs No. 6-15 minutes 5 to go, to the geyser and No. 2-5 minutes 10 in a quiet step. The location of the hotel pleased me with the lack of noise from the road and there were no these endless crowds of tourists like in the center near the colonnades. Everyone speaks Russian. There are two doctors in the sanatorium. I was at the Russian Yuri Ivanovich, he seems to still be in Villa Rieter. A very good doctor, he examined me for a long time and carefully, listened, he himself told a lot of useful things. Another doctor was also praised, a woman, she is Czech. By the way, I really liked the friendly attitude of the nurses and staff. The balneological center is new, opened on August 15.2012. Closed on Saturday and Sunday. No one waited for procedures longer than 5 minutes, unless of course they came on time, and not like some in half an hour. If it is scheduled at 12:00, then not a minute earlier, you can only agree in advance with the head nurse. From the procedures I liked the massage and the relaxation bath.
The rooms are not new but clean. Furniture made of solid light wood, the feeling that you are in the country) Single room is small, but I only spent the night in it, during the day procedures and walks. The room has a TV with 3 Russian channels, a hairdryer, a refrigerator. Cleaning every day, bed linen and bathrobe changed once a week, towels every three days, if not thrown on the floor. I never threw them on the floor, but I took them to the pool and they changed me wet every day. All requests were fulfilled immediately.
The food is very tasty. Breakfast from 7:30 to 10:00. Vegetable salads, sliced sausages, ham and cheese, delicious cottage cheese, jams, honey, yoghurts, muesli, eggs, pastries (very tasty), tea, juices, coffee, which I don’t remember yet. Every morning the waiter brought a list of dishes to choose from tomorrow for lunch and dinner. Lunch from 13:00 to 15:00. One dish on the menu, a buffet with salads, cuts, side dishes, pastries. Fruit is not a great choice, there were watermelon, apples, oranges, grapes, plums. Dinner from 18:00 to 19:30. The same story as with dinner. I really liked the steamed trout and the baked rabbit. The only negative: drinks at lunch and dinner for extra. fee (25 CZK), only water is free.
There is no pool at the hotel, I went to Termal, but they overdo it with bleach, of course. I walked a lot in the forest, alone. It is difficult to get lost if you follow the paths and read the signs. In general, everything is there, even the Vietnamese in the shops speak Russian. Everyone is very friendly, and they will show and prompt) The main effect in Karlovy Vary is from springs and walks, the rest is an addition.
In short, the advantages of the resort: location, good staff, delicious food, decent treatment, reasonable price.
Cons: the elevator is buzzing, but it should be changed in November 2012. The elevator goes up to the 4th floor, and 5 procedures. For older people with sore feet, this can be a problem! Extra drinks fee for lunch and dinner. Of course, there were compatriots who were not happy with everything, especially some were annoyed that it was dripping loudly outside the window in the rain) I repeat, I personally liked everything, if it works out, I will return to this sanatorium again.
The most important thing is the balneological department (or, in Russian, a clinic). She's really great. First, everything is new. That is not just clean, but very modern! I was especially struck by the backlit baths. It is clear that this does not particularly affect the treatment, but it is very beautiful! The bathtubs are very clean, they are thoroughly washed after each client (in another hotel where I was, to be honest, there were problems with this). Baths are different - some massage, some just relaxing. (Massage - white, relaxing - gray). It's all on the first floor. There is also a hospital on the fifth - everything else is there except for baths. Also very well done. Corridor, treatment rooms to the right and left. The massages were very good, I liked the masseuse Ludmila. Doctor - a solid five! All the people I met there were satisfied with the hospital.
Rooms, restaurant - no renovation, but everything is decent and clean! For a 3 star hotel, it's very good. The furniture is quite simple, but quite comfortable. The view from the rooms is nice, even the view of the courtyard is very pleasant. In terms of food - the main dishes were very tasty, the buffet - unpretentious, but it was enough.
If this hotel has disadvantages, then they are completely covered by the new hospital, which is clearly higher than 3 stars, and given the fact that in Karlovy Vary the medical base always comes first, this hotel is a very worthy choice, especially for such money! I advise!
