If the word "more affordable" means "cheaper", then, of course, in the northern part (Kyrenia and Famagusta), prices there are one and a half to two times lower (the Turkish lira also "dipped" against the euro over the past couple of years). Interesting there everywhere, in my opinion. Throughout the island, the ruins of ancient cities (Salamis, Kourion), ancient churches and mosques, there is something to see.

The question of which resort in Cyprus is the most affordable is not entirely correct. The thing is that in this paradise, each of the places to stay is good in its own way. Somewhere more expensive, somewhere cheaper, some are popular with young people, others with families who relax with children.
Perhaps one of the places where you can relax the cheapest in Cyprus is Nicosia. This city is the capital of Cyprus, local prices will please you. An excellent infrastructure has been formed here, there are a lot of remarkable places and, of course, magnificent beaches. Transport interchange allows you to go from here to any other resort in Cyprus. Therefore, I recommend :))))))

If you have somewhere to go in the evening, then Ayia Napa, there are many nightclubs, cafes, a water park

In the southern, Greek part of Cyprus, these are the resorts.
Ayia Napa is a youth party resort with a vibrant nightlife.
Limassol is a large resort city with a developed network of hotels. The beaches in Limassol are narrow and, it seemed to me, not particularly equipped.
Paphos is a solid resort, I would even say fashionable. It seemed to me that most of the English were there. Eating there is more expensive.
Larnaca is an ancient town with narrow narrow streets, where there are many interesting things, but beach holidays are not very developed there.
Somehow like this. That is, more accessible - most likely in Larnaca, but more interesting - depending on what interests you. If you hang out and rock - then definitely Ayia Napa, if you look at the antiquities - then Larnaca, and in Paphos there are also many antiquities and biblical stories. Although the whole of Cyprus is very small, and if you have a rental car, you can go around all the cities in a couple of days.

Paphos was my least favorite. There are many bars and discos, but they are empty, not like Ayia Napa. Several times dubious personalities pestered with transparent hints of a closer acquaintance.

In Cyprus, it is interesting EVERYWHERE! Unless, of course, you don’t sit around in a hotel

My choice is Paphos, there is a lot of everything and almost within walking distance!

We rested in Limassol, I really didn’t like it there, I remembered Turkey with a kind word, but here I see that Famagusta is recommended for relaxation. But it is in the Turkish part of the island. The guide told us. that vouchers there can only be bought in Turkey, since this part is not recognized by many countries.
Or do planes fly there from Russia?
аватар sigur62
No, they don't fly.
There, either by plane through Turkey, or fly to the southern part of Cyprus, and from there by car to the north.
аватар ollennka
In Famagusta, the beaches are too good. Vouchers are only from Turkey, our operators do not sell tours, they only carry excursions.
аватар Galina50
And if I don’t drive a car, how do I get to Famagusta?
аватар ollennka
From Ayia Napa, it seems, the tour bus runs. Take your suitcase to the bus, and stay there as long as you like. Or in Nicosia on foot to the northern part, and there a taxi is much cheaper than in the south.
аватар 19062005
Uh-huh, as much as you want - this is until the bus leaves back to the Cypriot part. There, even if you rent a car, they warn that the insurance for the Turkish part is invalid, Olenka, do not misinform, rest is not real in the Turkish part of Cyprus. No hotels, no conditions

Ayia Napa )))
аватар ollennka
19062005, well, you give))) What misinformation, all from my own experience.
The bus, of course, will leave the same day back, but no one bothers to arrange a return with another bus, for example. There are no time restrictions on staying in the northern part. For a rented mouse, insurance is issued at the checkpoint without any problems. For 3 days and for a month there are options. The hotels are nice, five-star hotels in Famagusta Arkin Palm Beach and Salamis Bay Conti are especially good. At the latter, even the "all inclusive" dearly beloved by our tourists is offered.)))

Stop advertising the Turkish-occupied territories!!!
аватар ollennka
Stop advertising political disputes on TurPravda. From the fact that the territory is controversial, it does not cease to be an object of tourism and recreation.
аватар 19062005
How else can you call it advertising? Planes do not fly there, tours are not sold. A simple tourist, according to you, needs to land in Larnaca or Paphos, get to the border by a tourist bus or a rented car, then AGREE with the carrier to pick you up. For what? For the sake of dubious pleasure to visit the beaches of Famagusta?! There are no decent places to stay in Cyprus?! And the beaches are closed?! Why the difficulties if you can safely buy a tour and relax for your pleasure without worrying about anything? !

Guys, I do not impose my point of view on rest on anyone. The vast majority of tourists buy tours and do not travel outside their hotel / resort for the entire vacation. But the question was about an interesting vacation, so I'm talking about the sights throughout the island.
19062005, this is your quote: "In Cyprus, it's interesting EVERYWHERE! Unless, of course, you don't sit around in a hotel"
аватар ollennka
And here comes the ad...
аватар brigantina35
Russia banned airlines from flying to Turkey, not tourists. That's the whole difference.

ValentynaPorshnya, can you already swim in February? How is the water in Limassol?
