Rested with my husband and children in November 2012. The hotel area is large, relatively well-groomed, a lot of greenery, even oranges and guava grow, but few flowering plants. The beach is clean and there are plenty of sun loungers. The hotel was occupied by a third, so the area around the bungalow was neglected, the a la carte restaurants did not work, the disco bar too, the animation was so-so. There were 3 pools, one for kids, the jacuzzi did not work. There is a sauna, quite decent, clean. The husband, a lover of the Russian bath, found like-minded people among Russians and Canadians, and in the evening everyone disappeared there. The room is good, overlooking the pool, everything you need is there, except for shampoo, a shower cap, and you had to beg for soap and toilet paper from the maid. Sometimes she forgot to bring clean towels, cleaned poorly, dust in clubs in the corners. In general, the hotel needs a good facelift, or a huge general cleaning. The restaurant worked only the main one. Gloomy interior. The dishes are washed poorly, I always checked the plate against the light so that there were no greasy stains. Cook decently. The first few days there was a variety of food: a large selection of side dishes, a lot of meat, fish dishes, seafood. Vegetables and greens are always in abundance, fruits are mainly pineapples, grapefruits, papaya, guava, melon. We didn't see bananas. Five days later, the abundance slowly began to disappear, there was a feeling that they were running out of food, and there was nothing to buy again. There was monotony: rice, spaghetti, pumpkin, bean garnishes, chicken, pork, fish. Saved us soups, every day different, well, ice cream. In general, everything was delicious, but too monotonous. Bar: cocktails are decent, you can drink, my son really liked their cappuccino coffee. Rum is moderately nasty, I really liked liquors, daiquiris. Here is tea there muck rare. At the pool bar and on the beach you can order cheese pizza, cheeseburger, hamburger, sandwich. There is nothing else to eat there, this is not the Dominican Republic for you. The staff is friendly, smiling, trying to learn Russian with varying degrees of success. We met a security guard there who spoke Russian very well and told us a lot about the hotel, showed us the way to the beach, to the bar, to the restaurant. There is a bus stop not far from the hotel, you can take a tourist bus to Varadero to the market for souvenirs, take the children to the park, just take a walk. The fare costs 5 kuk, but this is a ticket for the whole day, that is, you can ride several times throughout the day. Souvenirs are cheap. A 10-15 minute walk from the hotel there is a dolphinarium. The show there starts at 11 o'clock, from 9-30 you can swim with dolphins: a children's session costs 78 kuk (about 3.000 rubles) for 25 minutes. Photo with a dolphin (kiss of a dolphin) 8 cookies, you can shoot video yourself, take pictures - no one forbids. In general, I would give the hotel a C-minus.
