The hotel deserves its four stars. The room is very clean, the furniture is new (we lived on the 4th floor in the main building), the bar is meager (one can of beer, a can of cola, a can of fanta). There is a coffee maker, ironing board, umbrella, hair dryer, scales, LCD TV. The food is decent, but not super luxurious. For breakfast there was only one type of juice (orange), many types of sausages, jamon, vegetables, scrambled eggs, yoghurts with fillings, pastries. For lunch and dinner - soups, meat and fish dishes, a lot of side dishes, you will not stay hungry, they cook deliciously. The bars prepare various cocktails, not only according to the map, but also any others. Cocktails are not very good at making, but the lobby bar has the most delicious ones. The hotel area is clean, green, there is a stink river in which two sharks swim, we fed them raw fish from the restaurant. A large swimming pool, in the afternoon you can play volleyball and polo in it, they don’t particularly follow night swimming, so we swam after the disco. The beach is large and clean, if you come by 11 o'clock, there may not be enough sunbeds. Daytime animation is not bad, in the evenings - music shows, if you like Latin music, you will like it. The hotel is located 10 minutes drive from Varadero. We went to other hotels, outwardly we really liked Melia las Americas.
We took two days in Havana, we emailed the guide Vivian in advance, she gave us an individual tour for 30 CUC for two for the whole day (Teztur took 35 CUC per person for 5 hours), I liked it very much, if you are interested, I will leave her email and telephone.
Food. Excellent, for breakfast they make fresh squeezed juices from any fruit that you show from the presented ones. Lunch and dinner are also good, there are always several types of meat, fish, shrimp every day, mussels every other day, but very tasty! Fruits: bananas, pineapples, mangoes, papaya, watermelon, melon. They gave lobsters that were grilled several times. , they are tasty.
The staff is friendly and smiling, in general Cuba is all very positive. And it's just great!
The hotel area is a lot of greenery, beautiful, but too lazy to clean it up: coconuts, fallen yellow leaves from palm trees lay on the grass all my vacation. But you can ignore this if you are in Cuba.
The beach is great, wide, there were enough sunbeds for everyone. Nothing is stolen on the beach, because. there are no local residents. The ocean just shocked me with its beauty, warmth and comfortable bottom. The bottom is even sandy - just stunned. I went into the ocean and you don’t want to get out of it, you can lie in a panama hat and drift along the waves - Super!
Now I will write a little about the cons of the hotel:
1. there are no showers on the beach, which is inconvenient, you need to go to the pool to wash yourself. Some of the guys from salt and the sun were allergic to the skin. Since it is desirable to wash off sea water immediately.
2. Near the bar counter (pool bar), there are no racks with seats, sometimes you want to sit down and sip a cocktail right next to the bar.
3. Animation is very weak. This is a big minus, because there is nothing to do in the evening. They sing and dance at the animation. Twice there were competitions - "Miss Hotel", a good fun competition, but the competition - "We are a couple" - is rather weak. They called 4 couples and announced only one competition for them - just dance to the music that the DJ puts on, and so they made 10 songs, and they got very tired themselves and, accordingly, tired the audience.
I think that the animation program needs to be radically changed, then people will immediately reach out.
4. Disco - located in the building, next to the Pepperoni restaurant. Small, but vacationers do not go to it. The first time I came to the disco there were only 3 people, only once we had a lot of fun at the disco, because we came with a group. The music at the disco leaves much to be desired. We need more different styles to ignite the holidaymakers!
Now a little about excursions:
1. Havana - I recommend this tour to everyone, a very interesting city, amazing architecture. Be sure to look in Havana for a black room with a lens (an invention of Salvador gave), any moving object can be seen through it.
2. The island of Cayo Largo is just a fairy tale, as in the Bounty advertisement. I advise everyone, it's just a heavenly place!
The only thing is that on this excursion you will visit the iguana island - it has an uneven surface, so walking in shales is uncomfortable, take comfortable shoes!
3. Cienfuegos - I was shocked, very beautiful, French architecture, I also recommend it to everyone.
4. Belyamar Cave is also an amazing place, stalactites and stalagmites (calcium deposits)
In general, my impressions of the trip are super! For me, Cuba has become a place I want to return to. Just take a good mood with you on vacation, and do not pay attention to the little things, and then your vacation will be a great success!!!!
I convey, hello, to everyone who knows me, with whom we rested in this hotel: Irina, Lyudmila, Yulia, Sasha, Lena, Vadim, Sergey, Masha.
