Day six of the Alpine Trio tour
The night before we arrived in Intelaken and checked into the Hotel Bernerhof. The hotel attracted my attention with its designer finds. Interesting sculptures are placed on the platform of each floor. These are both animals and people. And near the entrance to the hotel there is a sculpture dedicated to tourists, and a dummy of a Swiss cow.
In the morning we have an optional excursion to Bern and the Swiss Riviera.
I get up at dawn, because I know that we will return late, and I will not have time to see the surroundings of the hotel in Interlaken. The town has not woken up yet, the shops are closed, the streets are deserted. And only our bus broke the silence of the city. A short photo session at the hotel entrance near the “eternal tourist” and cows, photos of the street and on the bus.
The departure was early, at 7-30 in the morning we had already left for Bern. On the way we watch a documentary about Switzerland.
Already at 8-20 we are standing in Bern near the pit with bears. Cloudy weather but no rain. October is a good time to visit Bern.
Bears have not yet fallen into hibernation, and with might and main frolic in the pit. By their appearance, it is clearly seen that they are well-fed and well-groomed, therefore they are very playful.

The city left a wonderful impression. Its well-groomed streets and many fountain-holes with original sculptures on the streets, its covered arcades with a length of 6 km. instead of sidewalks, under which it is not scary to walk in any weather. Beautiful squares, surrounded by palaces and temples.
On the main square, near the house of the federal government, 26 fountains spring from the ground, according to the number of cantons that make up the federation. Little Switzerland has four official languages, as an example to other countries.

According to our guide, there are respectable married women on one side of the entrance, and unmarried and offended women on the other. The first looked very happy, and the second looked angry and unhappy. How much this corresponds to reality, let everyone decide for himself.
In our free time, we went back to the clock tower and watched the action of the figures on the tower, which takes place every hour. It should be noted that in Prague and Munich it is more interesting and colorful. But the Bernese claim that their clock is the oldest in Europe. They didn't argue.
Then a trip to the supermarket for chocolate and other goodies.
Here everyone already had complete freedom of choice. On the way back to the main square, we went to the local market and bought fresh vegetables for dinner. In Bern, in a store, I paid with the hryvnia Visa Classic card, and in the market they even took euro cents from me.

At 12-10 we are already on the embankment of Montreux. The weather is good again, the sun even comes out from time to time. In Monte, a luxurious promenade stretches for several kilometers along Lake Geneva. Everywhere a riot of autumn colors and a mixture of colors.
Olga's main goal is to lead us all to the iconic monument to Freddie Mercury. Near the monument is a story about the life and work of the musician. And then free time until 13-30.
We walk independently along the embankment, with a stop for a photo in the most beautiful places. It was possible to go to drink coffee in a cafe on the embankment, but it was a pity to waste time on this.
Some of our people also went to the monument to Nabokov, but I am not a fan of this writer. After admiring the views of Lake Geneva and its embankment, we return to the bus and go further to Geneva.
At 15 o'clock we are already in Geneva in the area of international organizations. We pass it by bus back and forth, but do not stop for a photo. We go straight to the historical part of the city. The bus stops near the monument-mausoleum of the city's financial sponsor, who left all his wealth to the city, but for this the city had to honor his memory with this monument. Which was done.
Then, over the bridge over the Rhone River, which flows out of Lake Geneva, we move to the historical part of Geneva. On the way we admire the famous Geneva fountain. Although against the background of a cloudy sky, it looks blurry.
In the historical part we look at the Cathedral of St. Peter. Outside it is more beautiful than inside.
There is nothing special to see there, gray bare walls after the Reformation. And only one chapel has preserved its stained-glass windows and frescoes.
Walk through the streets of Geneva, exit to the green zone of the city to the longest bench in the world. If I'm not mistaken, then its length is 120 meters.
Well, finally free time for shopping. Our leader leads everyone to the watch and knife store. We had about an hour and a half until 18:00 for shopping.
And here everyone could fulfill their dreams of Swiss watches. Watches were for every taste and budget. The cheapest I've seen is around 40-60 CHF. francs. Well, let's not talk about the most expensive ones. Our tourists were interested in watches from 150 to 400 Swiss francs. Therefore, almost everyone could buy what they liked.
Before the road back, we also went to one of the supermarkets for chocolate. But here it was more expensive than in Bern.
We left the hotel at 18:00 in the rain. But he was no longer afraid of us.
At 21-30 we have already arrived at the hotel in Interlaken.
In my opinion, the tour was interesting and useful. And cities such as Bern and Montreux left wonderful memories of themselves. Geneva is simpler in this respect, but good shopping added pleasant memories of it.
