Waterfalls
In ancient times, romantics and pilgrims traveled to the Staubbach Falls in Lauterbrunnen, one of the highest in Europe. The height of the waterfall is almost 300 meters. Staubbach Falls is the second highest in Switzerland. Summer warm winds twist water streams into funnels, and they quickly disperse in different directions. It is this "fog" of spray and formed the basis of the name of the waterfall (translated from the German word pillar means "dust"). It is believed that the great poet Goethe gathered his inspiration to write the poem "Song of the Spirits over the Water" here. Staubbach Falls is one of 72 in the Lauterbrunnen Valley and is located directly in front of another spectacular attraction - the "spiral" waterfall Trummelbach, literally "carved" into the rock.
