Stayed at this hotel with my husband. The hotel is just after renovation. The waiters go out of their way to please. For breakfast buffet, which is not inferior to the choice of products in many 5 * hotels, lunch and dinner - a la carte. The portions are not very large, but delicious and the choice of dishes is large, that is, for lunch you choose one soup, one salad, one main course and one dessert.

It is difficult even with small portions to leave with free space in the stomach. Great selection of alcoholic cocktails, you can see that everything is real, no diluted wines and the like.
As I understand it, the hotel is not designed for children: no animation, no children's pool, nothing. This is a premium vacation for honeymooners or adult couples vacationing from children.
Everything was just super, the only thing you can find fault with is that the water in the pool is a little chilly. But with such a magnificent location of the hotel, it did not bother at all, the sea is 2 steps away. In general, the hotel holds the brand of all Grifid hotels.

We rested together with my husband for 2 weeks, from July 6 to 19. Since we are extremely picky tourists, then my review should be read adjusted for our picky and unpretentiousness. It’s just that for us the main thing on vacation is a comfortable bed to sleep in, the availability of hot water, yes, in fact, that’s all! Everything else is not critical.

So, let's begin.
Perhaps I'll start with the positives. The very first and, undoubtedly, the most important and indisputable plus of the Metropol is its location. The hotel is located at the northern end of the entire Golden Sands complex, at the very beginning of this end, so to speak. That is, away from the noisy center, but still within the resort. And, MOST IMPORTANT - it is located on the 1st coastline, literally across the road from the sea, and it's only 3*!! ! And this is his, undoubtedly, the most significant plus covers all, of course, available in a 3 * hotel, minuses.
However, back to the pros (in my very subjective, if you remember, view). The hotel is large, 11 floors, most of the rooms are located in such a way that they have either direct or side sea views. I know that for some reason this is of great importance for a separate category of tourists. So, when you check in, there is a high probability that you will get a room with a sea view (you just need to ask, if possible, for a higher floor, otherwise there are a lot of tall trees around).
There is a sign in the lobby that in the mid-90s the hotel underwent a major reconstruction. On the sunny side in the rooms on the balconies, we saw air conditioners, on the north they are not needed, I think (we didn’t have it, our room 505 was just on the shady side), because during the day it’s not hot in the room, but at night I, sometimes, and froze, I had to get a woolen blanket from the closet.
For nutrition. We took only breakfasts (we didn’t want to be “attached” to the hotel), the menu was the same every day: several types of sausages, cheese, cheese, vegetables, olives, fried sausages, scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs, butter, margarine, sour cream, jams, several types of dry cereals, several types of bread, buns, various teas, coffee, cocoa, juices, compotes. For breakfast they did not give fruits, current citrus fruits. For 2 weeks the menu has not changed significantly. I write in such detail that maybe it is important for someone. We didn't care, breakfast was okay. For variety, I think it’s better to take a walk around the cafes, fortunately, there are a lot of them there!
Another plus, in my opinion. Who has kids, there is such a good water slide across the road for, 1 descent costs a little less than 1 euro, or you can ride all day (I won’t say the cost right now, I just rolled down for the sake of interest).
About the cons. Well, in my opinion, the hotel is a bit sloppy. The elevators are old but they work. The furniture seems to be new, but, for example, the TV set in our room was already Gold Star !! ! Although, on the other hand, have we come to the sea to watch TV?!
To the minuses, I’ll also take, perhaps, such a moment that is not very pleasant for my husband and me. For some reason, the bed in our room was not a double bed, but simply 2 1.5-sleeps pushed together. Somehow it was not very convenient...
Well, the toilet was leaking in our bathroom (something it was some kind of cracked there). But, for example, I didn’t care - it didn’t cause any inconvenience, and that there was water on the floor - so it’s not for us to clean it...
And the hotel does not have its own pool, if anyone cares. But it seems to me, why splash in chlorine water (and chlorine is terribly simple there, bleach from pools reeks a few meters away), when there is a lively, clean, warm sea nearby !!!!!
By the way, I will also include algae in the water as a minus. Somehow it was not very pleasant. True, in fairness, I must say that they were not always there. In the morning, the water is usually clean, clean! And the algae either washed up in the evening, or in strong winds, and even then not always. By the way, my husband and I once went for a walk along the shore, so near the fashionable expensive 5 * "Admiral" you couldn’t see the bottom from the algae !! ! And the stones stuck out everywhere"!! ! This is horror, I think!
But in general, "Metropol" pulls quite well for its 3 * - for such and such money. Judge for yourself: at the height of the season, a 2-bed room with breakfast costs about 30 euros!! ! Just ridiculous prices, considering that the sea is 10 steps away!
So, if you choose "Metropol", just keep in mind that it's still 3 * and do not demand more from it.
And so I wish everyone a pleasant stay, swim, swim, soak up the sun!

Quite decent, although already pretty shabby. The room for three is large with a separate sofa for a child, which made us very happy because in other hotels (for example, Serena) they said that they just throw bloody mattresses on the floor so that children can somehow sleep... We were placed on the 11th floor, but it did not bother us, because.

We were placed on the 11th floor, but it did not bother us, because. the elevator worked quite well and had two cabins. Didn't have to wait for an elevator. The view is certainly not directly on the sea, but in general the view from the window was not bad.
In the room: TV, telephone, refrigerator. No air conditioning or hair dryer.
There is an ironing board in the corridor, an iron can be borrowed at the reception for free.
honey. office, tennis court, laundry, mini golf, yacht club at the hotel no! All this is on the territory of the resort, but not at the Metropol.
