Coarse sand. Prices for fruit and food in Bulgaria are not very low, rather European. One dish in a cafe or restaurant from 8-10 euros. Fruit in season is also at Moscow prices.

Beaches almost everywhere in Bulgaria are sandy, incl. in Sozopol. If the budget is small, then you do not need Sozopol, the transfer from the airport is expensive there. If you want inexpensive cafes and fruits, see Pomorie, Kranevo. On "all inclusive" it is better to take Sunny Beach, but ask for advice on the hotel, not all are good. You can watch other resorts, not Sozopol.
аватар Bobrovska
As for fruits, I agree, but you can eat cheaper. There is all sorts of food to take away, and also all day long there is a business lunch in cafes all over the promenade (in Bulgarian "lunch menu") 6-7 lev for lunch (soup, main course, dessert). Portions are big. For four of us (mom, dad, 2 children) we took 2 lunch menus, that was enough. 1 lev is equal to about 22 rubles, that is, lunch for the family came out to us in rubles. at 300-400. Agree, it is very inexpensive. During the day you can eat more modestly, save money in the restaurant in the evening. I can tell you the phone number of a taxi, from Burgas airport to Sozopol it will take you for 50-60 lev. But you can even cheaper: on the mountains. bus from the airport to the bus station of Burgas, and then on the intercity bus to Sozopol, 40 minutes - and you have arrived. From the stop to your Chuchulev, go nearby, there is nothing far at all. Little town with a button. :)

Thanks :). We'll keep thinking! We were in Kranevo last year - we liked it
аватар sakir_olga
Girls, would you recommend inexpensive and proven cafes and shops in Sozopol? Thanks!!
аватар Bobrovska
Near Chuchulev you will have a supermarket "Bolero" to buy food. There are only two supermarkets in general, the second on the square is smaller. At least last year there were two ... I like the cafe on the street. Ropotamo (walks along the beach), called "Barracuda". There is also a business lunch.
аватар Bobrovska
Just don’t ask for tea, in Bulgaria, in my opinion, they don’t know how to make it at all.
аватар Bobrovska
There is also a good cafe "Laguna" on the street. Odessa.
аватар Bobrovska
And of course, the restaurant "Onegin", st. Republican, 43. Of course, 1.5-2 times more expensive than in a cafe, but delicious! Russian restaurant.
аватар irinavladnik
Completely agree with Bolero. Inexpensive. Wines, which cost 25-36 levs in restaurants, cost 4-5. The store is great, but very small! There are always a lot of people and only 2 cash desks. He also works in winter. There is also cooking. Delicious meats, salads, excellent cakes with fruit. The basket with strawberries is just huge - 2 leva. I didn't understand restaurants. Have you been to Barracuda? This is an expensive fish restaurant. And why say business? Just a set menu. Very average quality, of course, on every stand, but eating is problematic for the stomach. And yet, I am often reproached on this site that the requests are large: we fly business class, we live in the best hotel in Sozopol, in a double room at 110 meters, on the beach we pay for the VIP zone immediately for 20 days, for 25 levs for 20 days, although we can don't come. But "Laguna" is the best restaurant in Sozopol. This is not a cafe! View of the entire Paradise Bay, reserve by phone, otherwise you will not get in. We love our hosts, Demetrius and Antoinette. Only there rest in European traditions. Quiet music, a menu of anything. Wonderful cheeses, all types of "Blue", stuffed olives on caviar, fish "Laguna" for two. This is not a cafe! And the restaurant "Onegin" is just our Russians and Ukrainians. Lots of Georgian wine.
аватар irinavladnik
Sakir olga, you will definitely find places where you will eat tasty and inexpensive. Full bistro, not on the first line. And then even in any restaurant no one will impose expensive dishes on you. You can take one salad and one second for two. Portions are big. Not bottled wine, but draft. Etc. Don't get lost. Good luck!

sakir_olga If you have already been to Kranevo, you will like Sozopol much more. Do not listen to nonsense about the high cost of food, fruits and transfers. People write this to confuse you. For absolutely any wallet you will find in Sozopol the rest that you will like. You don’t need a transfer either - public transport is excellent in Bulgaria, often, cheap and comfortable. But if you still need a taxi, then feel free to call a taxi by phone - the calculation on the meter will not empty your pocket. Fruit prices are different, if you are not too lazy and go to the market, then everything is cheaper there. In a cafe, even on Ropotamo by the sea, you can have lunch for 5-6 levs and dinner for 10-15 levs. so you can always find everything you can afford

spb You have a good opinion about people, if it seems to you that we are here on purpose advising a person. Have you been to Bulgaria many times? Can you compare Sozopol with something else? For example, I have been traveling for 10 years and I know all the resorts. And if a person writes about a small budget, why overpay for an hour-long serpentine road. It's better to spend it on something else. What is inexpensive for my respected irinavladi71, or even for me, is expensive for others. Why suffer on a public bus on purpose (I know where it stops in Sozopol), and then trudge with bags to Chuchulev? In general, Sozopol is a good town, and there are good restaurants, especially in the Old Town. I usually recommend it to tourists from Ukraine who come by bus, they don't care, or richer tourists who won't look for inexpensive cafes. Then yes, it's romantic. The fruits in the shops are bad, I don’t even know where the market is, probably far from the center. We bought from street vendors on the street. Odessa, but they are not always there. Therefore, I am sure that Pomorie is better suited for Sakir_olga. And if it's too late, then you need to eat in the New City and higher, there are good and inexpensive cafes. And in Barakuda on Ropotamo it’s normal, at least it was
аватар irinavladnik
I agree with Poole. Why do we have to give bad advice. SPB, have you been to Sozopol yourself? Some advice doesn't stand up to scrutiny. About a taxi, for example. Everything must be agreed in advance. And how is the transfer not needed? I really did not understand how Sakir Olga will get to Bulgaria? By plane?
аватар sakir_olga
Thank you for your participation ladies! We are two adults, in our fifties. In our Russian province :) you can buy a tour only in the complex, visa + insurance + flight + transfer + housing. For the first time we are going completely without food, I'm a little worried about how everything will turn out. I write out all your recommendations, group them by "topics" catering, shops, transport. Thanks again
аватар irinavladnik
Now something has become clear. So the plane and then you will be met by buses. Those transfers are. Fine! So you don't need a taxi. As for food, I read that the owners of your hotel tell you where it is better to eat nearby. You already know about the Bolero store. It's a pity that your hotel doesn't even serve breakfast. Once again, good luck and have a good rest!
аватар Bobrovska
And we went to the "Laguna" easily, without an appointment, both during the day and in the evening. And in the "Barracuda" they ate during the day in the same way as in other cafes: 6-7 lev per person. Without alcohol, of course.
аватар Bobrovska
By the way, "to drag with bags to Chuchulev" from the station 700 m (9 minutes on foot).
аватар irinavladnik
Specially looked at the photo. Just near the "Rhodope Specialties" and near the "Barracuda". Complex - yes 5-7 lev. There were stands with menus. Too lazy to show photos. But it's complex! If you eat complex meals all the time, then you are right. And why trudge with bags in the heat. there is a transfer. They will take you to the hotel.
аватар irinavladnik
I don’t know about Laguna during the day. Never been during the day. We immediately go from the sea three steps to the Rhodope specialties. I meant evening, 8-9 pm. This is dinner time at the Bulgarians themselves and the tables are all occupied. Especially the row of tables on the right, where there is a gorgeous view of the entire Harmony beach. There are always signs "reserve"

Poola, my opinion is made up of your answers. On what serpentine do you drag yourself to Sozopol for an hour? Don't mislead people. And we also live in Bulgaria for a long time, we know firsthand from the inside absolutely the whole situation in Sozopol, especially. And there is even nothing to compare with other resorts - the comparison is not in their favor. And if you don’t know about taxis, then don’t smack nonsense. You don’t need to negotiate with anyone in advance, because. it's much more expensive. You, apparently, know only hiking trails and tourist sites. It's a pity, Bulgaria is more multifaceted
аватар irina_1901
spb. You are a very rude person. Your statements: "people write to confuse you" or "do not smack nonsense" do not show you from the best side. Perhaps serpentine is a strong word, I admit it. How long do you think it takes to get from Burgas to Sozopol? Just about an hour. I didn’t write anything about ordering a taxi, but I know that they are expensive. And if it is you who most of all like to relax in Sozopol, this does not mean that there can be no other opinion. Here everyone can express their opinion. About what I know about Bulgaria - it’s not for you to judge, the hiking trails are just, probably, you know more if you advise people to go to the hotel from Burgas by public transport and eat set meals. I know all resorts from Balchik to Sozopol. I have the right to advise, but you can not read my comments if you do not like them. I will not be upset. A lot of people write to me in a personal and want to get exactly my advice, and after the rest they say thank you many times. Moreover, I do not like to communicate with rude people at all. Have a good rest.
аватар irinavladnik
Spb, I also share your love for Sozopol. We've been traveling for four years. After Golden Sands, where we rested for several years in a row (we took our son to the sea, he was sick a lot), we thought that we would not go to Bulgaria anymore. For several years we rested in Greece and Cyprus. But Bulgarian friends highly advised Sozopol. And we are very glad that they listened to the advice. Wonderful and soulful place. And how many new acquaintances in these four years. We know many people by name, a whole section in the phone on mobile phones. But still, this is a site for the exchange of opinions and the experience of each person. Who loves Sunny Beach more, who loves Nessebar and so on. Who does not think without "all inclusive", and we do not like this food option. So what? Why respond so aggressively? You, a woman, and "slang" like "do not drive a blizzard", when there is an exchange of experience on the issue of a taxi, is not very appropriate. Poola knows Bulgaria very well, has vacationed in all resorts, helps many in choosing. So let's be polite to each other. Good luck!

Good afternoon to everyone who sympathizes with us :). I admit, the questions are a little primitive at first glance, but this is for experienced travelers. For us, they are more than essential! With public catering and products, she clarified a lot for herself. Still, if it is possible, one theme - leisure. We would not like to buy excursions, in terms of Nessebar (one day), a water park and wine tasting. Tell me, please, how realistic is it and is there public transport. Taxis are excluded :). Thank you all, great. Irina separately, last year you advised me on Kranevo, in a personal mail.
аватар Bobrovska
As far as I know, you can’t get to Nessebar without a bus transfer, you have to go through Burgas. Although maybe someone here knows better. But in Nessebar you can swim on the "Comet", the prices are high, but this trip on the water is in itself like an excursion. You will swim to Nessebar, take a walk there, you can also go back, or you can take transfer buses through Burgas. The water park in Sunny Beach is big and expensive, but I prefer the small one in Primorsko. In Sozopol, you will see its advertisements everywhere, and even free transport goes there. I can't say anything about wine.
аватар irina_1901
sakir olga. thanks, i feel like a familiar name. Your guide from the meeting party will give you a list of excursions with prices you first look at. We went to Nessebar with a guided tour, it is not expensive. But in TA it is always 10% more expensive, this is from earnings. Personally, I didn’t see excursions for sale on the street in Sozopol, maybe now something has changed. Sozopol was our first experience in Bulgaria, the first hotel "Dima" did not like, but there were 3 times in total, then in "Ivan Lazarov" and, after 2 years, in "Sink". I love Sozopol, they stopped going when they built a lot there, because the town is not great and the beaches are not all good, some have a lot of algae (location specifics), but you will go to a good beach. There is a bus station in Sozopol, where you can see where you can go yourself. I don’t remember about Nessebar, is there a direct bus? I know that it goes to Sunny Beach, but not cheap, 10 lev per person one way. Maybe a tour and almost the same amount will come out. We traveled from Sozopol only to the Bulgarian village, Nessebar, Ropotamo and the island of St. Ivan on a boat. The last excursion, specific, the island is uninhabited, but we really liked it. On the way back - a freshly prepared lunch.
аватар spb
sakir olga for excursions to Nessebar and the water park: you can easily get there by public transport. If there is money for a comet, then you can use it. Schedule and prices on the website http://fastferry.bg/page/view/tickets-and-fares ). In time, half an hour to Burgas + half an hour to Nessebar. Buses run every half hour. Water park - decide on the spot which one to go to. There is a water park in Primorsko, in Nessebar, in Sunny Beach. You can watch excursions in the travel agencies of Sozopol, they are there at every turn, especially on Ropotamo. If you have the desire and opportunity, go to the island of St. Ivana
аватар sakir_olga
Thank you all very much! For advice and, most importantly, indifference and participation! All the rest full of impressions and interesting meetings!

Something about the prices is not right, in comparison with the prices in Greece, for example, in Bulgaria everything is cheaper - the same usual price in terms of numbers that is in euros is written in local currency, which is almost half the price. This is for food, restaurants and souvenirs.
аватар irina_1901
In Greece, outside the hotel, everything is very expensive. I don't know what kind of cheap holiday in Greece people are talking about?
