I don’t know how it is in Bulgaria, but it happened once - we drove through Odessa and stopped for the night in Luzanovka. The sea is clean and generally class. We drove back in 2 days, there was a complete kapets - a cloud of some black beetles in the sea, they swim, climb out, climb into the windows! Brrr!!!! It's still scary to remember.

If Bulgaria is considered as a budget option, then this is a bus trip (if you can’t endure long trips it will be difficult + customs is still a quest lottery, in terms of time) and accommodation in 2-3 * with breakfast, lunch, snacks near the beach, well, dinner will have to be spent in restaurants, but it's worth it. Look at the Duni resort, where all the hotels are good and there are no mosquitoes. We like the Belleville Hotel better.
