You can bring dollars with you, but it is preferable to bring euros with you

Take what you have (dollars or euros). In Sunny Beach, some exchangers even accept Ukrainian hryvnia - but the exchange rate is rather low.

We always take euros. because the exchange rate is stable, and the dollar is jumping, seen in different periods and 1.55 and 1.35.

Euro!!!

Poola, not everything is so simple. It's just that the lev is pegged to the euro, and the dollar / euro ratio is floating. And if the dollar is 1.35, then at home you buy a cheap dollar (or an expensive euro). You can say this - if you do not have any currency, buy the euro. If you have dollars, you don’t need to specifically change them at home for euros, go with dollars.
"We take the euro. Because the exchange rate is stable, but the dollar is jumping" - or is the dollar stable, but the euro is jumping ??? :)))))

Well, who cares. I personally do not buy currency on the last day before departure. I convert dollars into euros during the year. I know how many leva I will have. And what about the dollar, what will jump there, and what is stable, I don’t even want to think.

For many years we have been taking with us a Visa card on which euro, am. positions are open. the ruble and ours, dear. All purchases in stores, refueling with gasoline, etc., are carried out only with cards. Cash at least in euros, which can be exchanged for leva.

We've already dealt with this issue here. came to the conclusion that the euro is better under one condition: if your salary is not in dollars)))

If you have "ready" dollars at home, then I think you should not bother changing them for euros, and if you need to buy foreign currency, then euros are better. I don’t know where you are from, but if you are from Russia, then it’s more profitable to buy euros here and exchange them for levs than to buy dollars and exchange them there. The dollar exchange rate in Bulgaria really "floats" too much, and if it is low, then you will "lose" money))).

I completely agree with Olga17477 ..
if we are talking about the national currency, then it is better to buy euros at home ... and if you receive a salary or a part in dollars, then you can safely take them without converting them to euros ...

Last year they took both euros and dollars. Differences in the exchange did not notice - it is easy to change both. ))) But I don’t really advise you to take all the money only on the card, because, for example, that year we had a limit on withdrawing money per day. Which is very inconvenient. We were in September, but in the second half it became possible to withdraw only 80 lev per day from the card. Introduced a rule waiting for protection from scammers. And we were very glad that we took enough cash with us.

Thanks a lot for all the replies! Somehow it happened that the money was collected in dollars, so the question arose: is it worth exchanging them for euros. Thanks again for the replies. We will no longer bother about currency exchange at home. Let's bring dollars!
