Visa, entry into the country
In the summer I went to Bulgaria. The consulate "prescribed" in the visa a double entry into the country so that I could go on an excursion to Istanbul and return to my resort, but I did not go to Turkey, I saved, so to speak, one allowed entry. It turns out that I can go to Bulgaria again within the allowed time, and there is no need to open a visa for this trip? (in the summer the visa was open, as I have now examined in my international passport, until the end of January 2012). The question is theoretical, since I don’t plan a trip to Bulgaria yet, but it’s still interesting to know for the future. Thanks!

Yes, you can, sometimes they put it three times, but you have to ask.

Thank you! But the visa was given for a tourist trip through TA - will I be able to enter the country on my own this second time? Or does it not matter?

The number of days of stay is also important. For example, a visa until February 15, 2 entries, but 7 days of stay. And if you made your first trip for 7 days, then you cannot use this "additional" entry.
I did not get a Bulgarian visa, but I did get Romania. These 2 countries are very similar in visa issues: on the one hand, they are not Schengen, on the other hand: the requirements are very Schengen and even visas look similar. We've been preparing to join for a year now ;-)
I think the Bulgarians are the same as the Romanians.

It doesn’t matter. I always go to Bulgaria in my car, but I open a visa at the TO, I order a hotel from them for a maximum of 3 days, and then wherever you want, we went to Macedonia last year, then we returned to Albania back to Bulgaria and Romania and home .The best is Ohrid in Macedonia.

Bulgarian 2-fold stay is basically 30 days.

you can, it doesn't matter. but most often travel agencies request visas for the number of days of the tour. visas are often given with a margin in calendar days - + 3,5,15 ... days. But if you have a cartoon and your 7 days have passed, then it does not matter at all that the visa is valid for another month.
It even MAY become inconvenient (for Schengen): if you were given a long visa period, say, for 1.5 months. But only for 5-10 days, you left for days and, in theory, you can no longer use a visa. But, if suddenly in the period before the actual expiration of the visa, you need to get another one, for example, an urgent business trip. Not every consulate will immediately take the documents - they can, and most likely will, send them to cancel the first one. The same risky situation can be when obtaining a visa for 2-3 trips to one country, for example, in February for skiing in Austria and for May in it. They will give you from 20.02 to 09.05. With 2 entries by the number of days of both trips, well, maybe + a couple of days.
And suddenly I wanted to go somewhere in Germany in March. Or annulment or instead of May-Germany
It’s not a big problem, it doesn’t happen often, but my friend had it!
Therefore, it is better to know in advance

turdur49, and how long was your stay in your visa. After all, if 30, it really does not matter. And if 7, like a tour.
We arrived in Bulgaria, the countdown began, we left it for Macedonia, the countdown of days of stay stopped. Even if you sit there for two weeks, these days do not count. Back from Macedonia to Bulgaria, the countdown began, drove into Romania, ended.
If there are a lot of days in the visa, then there is no problem.
My Romanian visa through TO with the tour was multi, for almost a month, but only for 6 days, like the tour itself.
Oksana, look at the visa! If there are enough days to stay, then go skiing in Bulgaria, not the UAE!

6 days stay in Romania

Now I'm already interested. But the passport is at home, I'm at work. I'll take a look and write back. P.S. Hatinka, a goat on ice is better than me on skis))))
аватар hatinka
Well, you have to start somewhere. Or at least try ;-)

We could go, Oksana! :) I traveled 2 times on this visa last year. The visa was opened in May for the tour "Romania-Bulgaria", they gave everyone a 30-day "double entry" because the program included an elective to Turkey. Well, here I am, using a "saved" visa, like you, for another week, "waved" to Nessebar in September. So there is nothing "military" in this :)

I support the proposal to drive at least for a couple of days. You have a visa, but you won’t lose money, the country is inexpensive to visit.

I support the proposal to drive at least for a couple of days.
Yeah, on the way you can stop by Romania :) For holders of Bulgarian visas, Romanians provide a free visa-free 5-day transit :) But, damn it, WHEN WILL WORK?!!!:)))
аватар Biker_Oksana
Ahhhhhhh, instigators!! ;)))
I'm not ready for Bulgaria, besides, again, besides, for the winter. But thanks for the replies!
Lada, and work in the intervals between folding chumadans, during the days of waiting for a visa and at work, waiting for travel photos to be dumped from a flash drive on someone ;)))

Hatinka, I ski rather smartly on flat terrain;)) and rhythmically rearrange my legs for one-two-three;))) coordination of upper-lower arms-legs is what you need, and I don’t fall into snowdrifts :D But to go down the hump - a problem, even with a slope of a couple of tens of degrees. It's easier on a motorcycle 200 per hour.

Yes, I promised to see the visa... Wow!!! Not even until the end of January, but until February 9 is open! For 30 days (and in Bulgaria I "spent" only two weeks of this amount).

The subtlety of a double-entry visa is that the second entry into the country must be made at a customs point different from the first entry.
аватар LaFifa
StanVe, this is the first time I hear about such a "subtlety" ... Where did you get such information from?
аватар hatinka
Are you hinting at transit?
Logically. But I know double tickets received for two separate trips, that is, not designed for transit.
I would also like to understand where the infa comes from.

I went to Bulgaria by car, at the entrance I asked this question because I wanted to go to Turkey later. Answer from the Bulgarian border guards, and in two different places (in the Toshevo genera and Varna airport)
аватар LaFifa
Some kind of nonsense ... But what about those who fly by plane or travel by train, or by regular bus? :)
аватар StanVe
It may be nonsense, but it is true, for this, just ask a question at the consular department of the Bulgarian Embassy. As I understand it, this was done precisely so that Bulgarian travel agencies could sell short tours to Turkey or there are other reasons hidden from our concept .

Here is the answer to the question about a double entry visa, asked on the website of the Bulgarian Consulate:
"QUESTION: I have a tourist visa (org. tourism), which is valid until November 2011. Visa for 30 days, 2 entries. I have already been in Bulgaria this year (18 days, entered the country 1 time), I am going to go to Bulgaria in August (for 12 days) Tell me, will this visa be valid or do I need to get a new one?
ANSWER: Yes, the visa you have is sufficient for the planned trip.
All. No requirements to cross borders at different points.

StanVe, now look at this situation: I'm going to a country (it doesn't even matter which one) to go twice for, say, 2 months or two tourist trips with a total duration of 14 days. With a high degree of probability, the border crossing point will be the same.
For example, a trip to Krakow and a trip to Zakopen when using Vizer.
I'll have two trips, one border crossing point. There are many such visas, there are no prohibitions.
The situation is different: two border crossing points are close to each other (in Bulgaria, I don’t know, but for example, Slovakia, Chop and Beregovo).
It is clear that this is not a transit, but "Your" rule will work, since the points are different.
I think that just a person who travels twice in a couple of days through one checkpoint, most likely, the customs officers will check well for the presence of something prohibited.
In this light, they could advise to go through different points.
I think so;-)
