Bulgaria except the beach - where to go, what to see
Please tell me where to go and what to see in Bulgaria except for Nessebar, Sozopol and excursions to Turkey? We want to travel on our own, without excursions. What do you advise?

Yes, there is nothing to see there .... One and a half Orthodox cathedrals. And the best excursion is to Istanbul.

There is a lot to watch - it depends on your age.
From gay, travel, male and female striptease and sex tourism. Finishing Shipka, Rylsky Monastery, Rose Valley, Veliko Tarnovo, Kaliakra + Mussel Factory, fisherman, diving courses. Fly on a hang glider. Visit one of the seven Pan Parks (National Reserve), a huge zoo in Sofia. There are many places to ride. And I'm not talking about the Roman Amphitheater (completely preserved) and the ancient part near Plovdiv (Roman city of Trimontium).
And DOFIGA. For a year horseradish go around 100%.
And Turkey and all the "pop " tours for tourists-suckers.
For Pachok - aha ... all life ha.ale, all girls bl.i and the sun fucks a lantern
Learn to relax and not confuse people. I think you and the Arab Tower Hotel in Dubai (Sail) will not work ... fu pessimist ...

Dear, you and I did not drink at the brotherhood, please do not poke me!
As for the essence of the issue - life is wonderful, women are charming, the sun gives life to the planet, and in Bulgaria there is nothing to do with sightseeing. At least to someone who saw something better. At least Turkey.
Gay travel and sex tourism are really very interesting ... very much. For people with certain problems.

Not according to Pack. There is something to see. Interesting people are interested everywhere, EVERYWHERE.
To the author - in Bulgaria - yes, indeed, you can’t go around everything in a year. I saw a lot, but not all. The Rila Lakes, the Rila Monastery, the Vanga Church and the Rupite, Melnik area climbed to the top of Botev - 2370 meters! In Shipkovo - for mineral springs in the mountains, but all around, all around. And not 3 Orthodox churches, but at least 20 famous monasteries. Not to mention 100 tourist sites (most popular)

Who says that there is nothing to watch, he did not go anywhere. You need to start from the Bulgarian village. There for all tastes: and walk around, and traditional museums, and nestinars, and pottery .... somewhere there is a trip to the grandfather of the beekeeper (people are simply delighted with him), dinner in a restaurant with a folklore program (there are definitely some in Nessebar). And what a gorgeous light show in V. Tyrnovo!!!!!!!!!! It's worth it to see! You just WANT and EVERYTHING will work out. (But we didn’t go to Istanbul, there are so many things in Bulgaria that it was a pity to waste time)

and I was with my son. he is an energetic guy, but not a fan of sights (although the Bosphorus impressed him too), so we went with him to the dolphinarium ourselves, and went to three different water parks for comparison, and rode a catamaran under sails .. really, a matter of taste, financial opportunities, and there are plenty to choose from!

barvinch, Excuse me, but just the one who admires Bulgaria has never been anywhere else. Even our Crimea will be richer in cultural and excursion terms. And a variety of folklore and village excursions come up just from the lack of truly valuable cultural monuments. I was on a "tour". Well, they dance, well, they sing, well, they pour... Hagia Sophia deserves much more attention.
The sea is shallow, the beaches are dirty. The menus in cafes and restaurants are double - for Europeans with the same prices, for "Russian-speaking" with higher prices. If you successfully pretend to be Deutsches, there is a chance to get a decent menu in German.
аватар ekaterina8020
well, Crimea is certainly cooler !!! and the sea is deep, and the beaches are clean, people don’t drink, but only walk along the embankment and have cultural conversations .. I’m definitely not going anywhere else! too good to be true! better where simpler: to tunisia, croatia or montenegro. and for the beaches to be clean, you don’t need to save on hotels!
аватар Pachok
But to distort, dear ekaterina8020, is not worth it! I did not write a word about the sea, the beaches and the people of Crimea. I prefer other resorts. But, in fairness, I want to note that the Vorontsov Palace, Bakhchisaray and the New World will be more interesting in every way than Shipka and the beekeeper grandfather.

Thank you all for your replies and don't swear please :)
Pachok, it's hard for me to compare, because I haven't been to Bulgaria yet, but I believe that there are more interesting places. But we are going to Bulgaria (including because it is affordable), we want a beach holiday in the first place. Well, at the same time and see the country.
аватар ecila85
Can you please tell me how are the buses to all these places? if you go by yourself without running after a guide?
аватар barvinch
along the coast IMHO better by bus. everything is close there (from the review to the kiten). but in the depths (sofia, tarnovo, plovdiv) the bus goes at night, so it will be stressful with the kids.
And for Pachok I will answer. Crimean beauties are incomparable with anything, but how you get there, how you see the living conditions and PRICES. As you meet the local population (in its GENERAL mass) it's better to go to Montenegro.
аватар Irina-ua
Bulgaria didn’t make any impression on me either, I don’t want to go there anymore, even if they pay me extra ... (((
аватар Pachok
barvinch is, of course, better in Montenegro! But is it about her?
аватар Natassha_Kiev
well what is it
аватар Natassha_Kiev
compare the incomparable.
In addition to Bulgaria, I was in several - in Poland, in Turkey (by the way, I liked Istanbul very much, but instead of a tour of the Bosphorus we sailed on a boat to the Princes' Islands - beauty) I was in Finland.
Everywhere there is something to see.
Moreover, I always prefer not traditional excursions (just the guide herself, and I know what is worth seeing and what is not), but to take a walk, walk around, where no one even knows.
аватар chervona_ruta
Here I do not agree with you Pachok at all !!! I have traveled half the world - sorry, but in any country there are a lot of interesting places - and Bulgaria is no exception !!! In Ukraine, besides Crimea, there is something to see in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, but few people know about it - the same is true in Bulgaria
