The city is calm, people are friendly, food is much cheaper than in Sunny Beach. But in Solnechnoye the beach is better. My husband and I went once, then we swam and sunbathed only there. There are buses, the ticket is 1 lev per person. Until stop "Svezhest" or next. The beaches are public, umbrellas and sun loungers are paid, 8 levs for each item. You can bring your own mats and umbrellas, but you will have to be located on the edge of the beach.
Food: on the main street of Khan Krum there is a cafe "Naslada" not far from the Festa Panorama hotel, owned by two Ukrainian women Larisa and Svetlana. We dined with them. Inexpensive, but very tasty. We were received there like family. Tried half the menu for sure.
