We chose with our son as an economy option accommodation not in Dubai, but in Sharjah. We love to travel very much. Therefore, there were two main criteria: cost (there were practically no hotel anyway) + proximity to the sea (in this case, to the Persian Gulf). Proximity to the beach - so as not to depend on the schedule of "delivery" to the beach. As soon as free time from excursions - immediately enjoy swimming: the water temperature was 32-35 degrees. Rest were satisfied. Photo - on my page in VK: http://vk.com/album13444400_177994998

I was also looking for an opportunity to reduce the cost of the tour, the picture is this - hotels, in the vast majority, give the best prices to travel agencies. It's different in other countries, but here it is. When I traveled, I managed to buy air tickets half as cheap as from the operator, but then Wizz Air flew for $ 200. The operator took only the hotel, insurance and visa. Now there are no cheap flights, my opinion is to take it from TO. From cheap hotels, with normal conditions and a good location, check out Citymax Hotel Al Barsha 3*.

I support living in Sharjah as one of the ways to save money.
We rested in Dubai, prices for the same period vary by 30%. But when I was choosing a hotel in Sharjah by the sea, I was convinced that they were 200 dollars more expensive there.
Therefore, we rested in the center of Sharjah, and of course, we did not wait for a bus from the hotel, we only went by taxi. It is super-cheap there, since gasoline costs a penny, I recently read that mineral water there has become more expensive than gasoline.
There are a lot of taxis in the Emirates. Therefore, we went back and forth when it was convenient for us, anyway, the cost of a taxi will not cover the extra expenses for a hotel by the sea. Plus, I made sure that there are only a couple of restaurants by the sea and no supermarkets.
Therefore, if you live by the sea, you will also have to go to the "city" every day to eat or buy food or just take a walk.

When we were going to the UAE, I re-read many articles and reports and came to the conclusion that I needed to go to Dubai, the choice fell on the Five Continents Cassells Al Barsha Hotel, at that time there was a hot tour to this hotel and it has a very convenient location. At the exit from the hotel there is a metro station, a mini market and a lot of cafes and restaurants for every taste and budget, next to the Emirates Mall. This is a city hotel and has a gym and rooftop pool. We took a tour for breakfast, so as not to become attached to the hotel and did not regret it. The breakfasts are very varied, plentiful and tasty. For dinner, we went to restaurants near the hotel or ordered takeaway there. The portions are huge, we took one for two. From the hotel there is a bus twice a day, it takes you to the PAID beach for free, we didn’t like it.

It depends on what excursions you are going on. We chose a hotel close to the beach, lived on Jumeirah Road, at the Holiday Inn hotel. Inexpensive and everything worked out. They take you to the metro if you need it for free, to the beach too, and they take you to the malls, although you can do it yourself, which is what we did. We saw everything we wanted. And as for me, the main thing is that the hotel is not in Deira, but in good area.

Many thanks to everyone who responded. Be sure to check out all the hotels. It is very important that it is convenient to get on excursions, but I can’t figure out the areas in any way. If you live in Sharjah, how to get to Dubai, if by taxi, then maybe that price will come out. Therefore, tell me whether it is worth moving away from the center.??? Which area is still better (I prefer excursions and evening walks around Dubai, well, I also want to go to the beach, so I can combine everything) Thank you for writing about Deira, now I will definitely exclude it. And yet, why choose a hotel in Dubai or Sharjah, and please do not forget about the budget option. I would be glad if you continue this conversation, so that I am convinced of the choice. Thank you to all the passionate travelers.

The Five Continents Cassells Al Barsha Hotel has a shop with bags, the owner's name is Muzychka, we took excursions from him, if you want, I'll write more in a personal.

If you're looking for an inexpensive option, check out the Holiday Inn Express-2.3..the service is great! Rooms and breakfast too! The room has a kettle.tea.coffee.cream..if you are going now, it will still be cool to swim..although it is our Slavs who bathe. But the water is cool. Of course it is better to live in Dubai! There is public transport - buses, metro, buy a card (it is one for all types of transport) and go! Taxi is also acceptable. In the center, all the hotels, let's say so .. not cheap. But it depends on how much you expect. And the hotels in the center are all urban, that is, far from the sea. A good area of Dubai Marina and the sea are nearby and there are plenty of entertainment, but all the hotels there are luxurious.

And yet. Why do you need to take excursions? You can see everything on your own, except perhaps the Desert Safari in jeeps! ITS worth a visit, we ordered through the Internet.
аватар natalika.79
Of course they are cheaper, but depending on where. For example, Abu Dhabi, we were going on our own, and we had already developed a route, metro, bus, taxi, again a taxi and again a taxi .... but when we were offered a car for the whole day for 100 USD, and we were driving 4 people at 25 for each, then the question disappeared by itself, And the hassle is less and cheaper, and the driver was waiting for us exactly as much as we wanted. We saw a lot of things, except for the Ferrari park, you need to go there for the whole day and it was not included in our plans. All excursions in Abu Dhabi were free, they paid only for the road.

Obviously, many advise hotels from personal experience. I will also not be original, check out Marina View Hotel Apartments.

If you live in Sharjah, then every day you will not run into Dubai.
I mean taxi.
But at the reception they told me that there is a taxi for 6 seats. if you go with a company, at least four of you, then divide the entire amount by everyone.
But Sharjah has its own wonderful beaches, and if you go to Dubai, then already on guided tours, first of all, exploring the city.
Or on a double-decker bus, where you get headphones in 6 European languages, including Russian.

Galina50, on a double-decker bus, the prices are high! And as many as they saw, only a few rode them, but there are advantages, where they wanted to go out, and then where they wanted, they got into it, along the route. Why a guide??? You can travel around everything on your own, and all the information about the country is on the internet! What's the point of spending money on a guide if people want to save money? For example, why a guide at the Parus hotel? Or why is it needed in the Burj Khalifa? Or in Dubai Marina?
аватар natalika.79
I completely agree with lana_181 a waste of money, In a week you can see Dubai up and down without any guides and excursions.

Thank you all very much.

And in any city I start with a review on a double-decker bus, of course, I go out along the road where I like it or have lunch, and then I mark where else to go additionally.
So in Abu Dhabi, we started from the bus, got out only to the mosque where Sheikh Zayed, the founder of the Emirates, was buried, rented a veil, my husband a white "dress" and examined the mosque. A trip around Abu Dhabi on this bus cost 50 euros each, terribly expensive for European prices, there are around 25-30 euros, but the trip was worth it.

Hello, all travelers, there is nothing shameful in the fact that people seek to save money by choosing cheaper hotels, while saving for the number of excursions, I want to defend the Deira area, although it is old, it is all so colorful, we are in the Emirates for the third time, and every once we ask Deira from TO, when buying a tour, I looked at individual purchases of air tickets and hotel reservations many times, but for some reason, TO is still cheaper. In Deira, we like the San Marco Hotel2 * a normal, clean hotel, the staff is responsive and speaking Russian, we took breakfasts and lunches - hearty, tasty, this year we went to May from TO on a roulette - $ 199 per person got the Rafee2 hotel * the hotel corresponds to its stars, old, breakfast is monotonous, the staff understands a couple of Russians, there is no special desire to help in some way, they were taken from both hotels to the beach, paid and if you walk 300 meters - free.
Now I want to thank those people who write reviews and recommendations, (continued further)

Continued...
it was from them, going to the Emirates in 2014, we learned about the discount book, I read many different posts from the guys who already used it, watched the video on youtube and also decided to buy, but since it was already almost the end of the year, those books what the guys were selling were already fairly used by our travelers and we just bought a new one, we didn’t regret it a bit, the principle of the discount is one goes for the full price of the second for a voucher from the book for free. Of course, we took voluminous excursions such as Abu Dhabi from a travel agent, and Ferrari, an aquarium, Atlantis, a safari, it's all from a book, I really liked the sushi bar and even more their discount (we love sushi), cafes with ice cream and delicious buns and latte. This year, without hesitation, we bought a discount book, although we were only 7 nights, but we managed to check in with a discount at the Yas water park, and a beautiful river

restaurant Rosa Mexicano, we also took a tour of the 4 emirates + the Indian Ocean from a travel agent (you can’t go there yourself). Returning home before the flight, we talked with the guys and no one knew about the book, so I decided to write this review of my own how else you can save money while traveling , Oh yes! I didn’t say that there are vouchers for hotels in the book (you book two nights for free). We sell the book in Ukraine, if anyone is interested https://vk.com/id163805874 ask. I’ll also say that travel agents get very angry when they hear that people use and know about the discount book, I’ve tested it myself. All successful travels.
