The rooms do have a "no smoking" sign, but everyone smokes, and the Arabs, and the Germans, and ours. They also smoke by the pool and on the beach, there are even ashtrays near the sun loungers.

Well, at least when we rested (February 2012) there were smoking rooms. They are equipped with ashtrays on the balcony and in the room and have a characteristic tobacco smell inside. Our relatives had just such, we were in a non-smoking room, the ashtray was only on the balcony. I think you should request a "smoking" room when booking, or at the very least, when checking into a hotel. You can't smoke in the closed areas of the hotel, but in the air - as much as you like, ashtrays and trash cans are everywhere.
