And again about "eat"
UAEDubai
The reports say that you can eat out of the hotel quite cheaply. The travel agent says about 15-20 dollars for lunch (or even more) - is this inexpensive in the understanding of the UAE? And cheaper? And one more thing: is there a ban on importing canned food into the country? Can I import a couple of cans "to support the pants" or not? Thank you!

Oksana, you can bring canned food and sausage with you. You can eat for less than 15-20 dollars. In McDonald's for 25 dirhams (about 6 dollars) you can eat and drink to satiety. In the Golden Fork Restaurant, for example, a whole large fried fish is 35 dirhams. The portion is such that they still took it with them. And also a bunch of all sorts of eateries with shawarma and so on

add more footcourts in malls

I also forgot to add that supermarkets have departments with ready meals. The prices are the same as ours. So you can save

You can eat McDonald's with shawarma at home (I mean at home), not to mention canned food. And if you decide to go to the Emirates, isn't it interesting to go to restaurants, because different countries have different cuisines. Moreover, most likely there will be breakfasts at the hotel, usually everyone skips lunch, and dinner is a matter of course. And then what happens: go to the UAE and eat in eateries with shawarma?
аватар natapro
Oksana was interested in how cheap to eat! Well, everyone has the opportunity and desire to go to restaurants
аватар 2012201
There are also many restaurants with normal prices. And you offer a person a completely decadent option. What they said in TO or TA is one thing, but believe me, prices (I'm not talking about exclusive restaurants, etc.) do not bite at all if you eat in cafes near your hotel. And about the desire to go to restaurants, so what does someone have the desire to rummage around eateries?

Well, give a couple of specific examples and finish this discussion.

UAE country, Dubai city, hotel ?. So restaurants (cafes): Safran (seafood on Tuesdays), Madeleine, Seafood, China Sea. Bring more? I think this is enough.

I understand that this discussion is over.
Oksana! Enjoy your holiday in this wonderful country.

Oksana, thanks for the questions! )) I like the way you are going on a trip. I, too, always learn from the experts of the travel truth, I never regretted it, on the contrary, I always went prepared! )))

Friends, thank you all very much for your advice!
Natasha, near my hotel, it seems that there is this most famous "Golden Fork", if she didn't mess anything up.

2012201, you are absolutely right, I do not plan to sit on canned food :) But I want to take them as an NC. I am considering the amount I am going to take with me to the Emirates for additional expenses. But anything can happen, but I can lose my head at the word "excursions", just like girls lose their heads at the words "fur coat", "diamonds", "Lamborghini" ;-) In addition, when I travel, I get an infernal appetite, it has been checked more than once , this phenomenon is subject to detailed study))))) And if, according to the old duty habit, you want to nibble something at three in the morning, I’m unlikely to go scouring restaurants and markets ;-)
With savings on food, I want to choose the "golden mean". When I was going to the UAE, I realized that I should go like this, go and feel in all respects, or not go at all. But I want to give up on one more trip for my birthday in the summer, so I want to be smart about spending money.
You will not believe it, but I have never eaten shawarma in Ukraine. A joke on the subject. Buyer: "Did the shawarma meow or bark before that?" - Seller: "No, she asked too many questions!")))))

Yes, a hotel. 2012201, this is "Ibis Al Rigga" on Al Rigga Street, I read that there are a lot of all sorts of taverns along it. I was confused by the words of the travel agent about 20-25 dollars for lunch, so I asked again here. Thanks for the wishes, I'm just in awe to see this country as soon as possible :))
ilika15, it's good that you don't know my periodic behind-the-scenes experiences during the training camp ;-) Thank you for your questions, which save me a lot of time :-)

So here you don’t even need to offer anything. this hotel is located in a place where there are many cafes, bistros, small restaurants with different cuisines, everything is very tasty and inexpensive. If you like seafood: Red Fork, Automatic; Golden Fork (Thai).

I love!! Mussels are ready to eat by the handful.
For some reason, Pakistani cuisine got into my head - I want to try it.

And who does not agree with my lengthy speech about canned food, fur coats, the golden mean and shawarma?))) Write a better comment, what do you think about this - otherwise you simply can’t understand the negative assessment)

natapro BigMac menu costs 33 dirhams - almost 10 bucks. This is what for 6 dollars you can eat and drink?
Oksana, unfortunately, it’s impossible to eat normally in Dubai for less than $10, at least I haven’t met. I was in both Iranian and Filipino on Al Rigga. Near the pedestrian bridge to the Union metro there is a Russian cafe. Meals start at 35-40 dirhams, which is already more than 10 dollars. Shawarma 5 dirhams, but believe me, to taste and satisfy hunger, nothing. Yes, and living on one shawarma, well, this is a direct harm to both health and normal well-being. I'm not trying to scare you, I'm just saying it like it is so that you don't ask those who reassure you here on arrival where they saw such prices. And then they shrugged. Yes, and also notice these "cheap" restaurants as our "gendelyks", with a dubious audience that will stare at you and eat with their hands. So don't even think about seeing velvet tablecloths, candles and piano sounds there))) Dinner at the hotel will be about 50 dirhams. In some kopeck pieces 40. In food courts in malls, you also will not eat below 10 dollars. Therefore, buy a couple of sticks of dry sausage at home (do not take canned food, extra metal during inspection is unnecessary questions), buy 10 pieces of all sorts of snickers and go
аватар Biker_Oksana
Thank you. 10 is not scary, scarier - 20-25, it runs in so many days))
And food courts in malls are ordinary cafes?
Speaking of canned goods. And this tin, from which the cans are made, does it “light up” like real metal? I've taken it with me on trips with no problems. Or if you travel to the UAE, is it tougher on this subject?

1) 10 is the minimum and usually 1 dish.
2) Oksana, to make it clearer to you, the most famous food court in Kyiv is in the Globus shopping center on Maidan, underground in the form of a circle. Foodcore is a platform where all sorts of fast foods are collected in one place. You have McDonald's, Puzata Khata, McFoxy, Baskin Robins, Firewood, Baked Potato, Japan Hat, etc. there.
3) No, not harder. If it's in the luggage, then probably don't care at all. And if in hand luggage they can ask questions.
аватар Biker_Oksana
No, I don't carry any food in my hand luggage.

It is really not expensive to eat in Sharjah in the Kazan restaurant at the Al Seef hotel. Although we regularly rest in the UAE, we learned about the restaurant only this year. The prices there are below average compared to local restaurants, the portions are large, traditional dishes of Russian and Tatar cuisine are cooked deliciously. I highly recommend checking it out, you won't regret it.
