Is it possible not to pay for the tour until they have given a visa? Has anyone had such a situation?
UAEDubai
The TAs that I contacted (as many as three) cannot clearly answer the question of how to prevent the loss of money paid for the tour in case of a visa refusal. According to the information, if the migration services of the UAE put a refusal, the Emirati tour operators do not return a penny of payment for the tour.

The standard response from TA is: "Don't be afraid, in our practice it has never happened that a woman over 30 (I fall into this category) was denied." I'm not afraid))), but I would like to have officially prescribed guarantees on how to avoid losing money in case of refusal. They are not given - probably there are none. This is also not made known. Partisan game.
I don’t want to offend respected TAs by suggesting that they are simply afraid of scaring, and therefore losing a client - but my money is more valuable to me. I will keep silent about how I react to TA's proposals to act according to the principle "maybe nothing will happen."
There was a proposition for TA to take out travel insurance - again, the information is different. Some travel agents claim that it costs 40 dollars for 7 days (I'm counting on 10), others - 150 hryvnia + 200 hryvnia for covering (tour?) 1000 dollars. And thirdly, the insured event will not be considered in a few days - and a tour to the UAE is too expensive to save a vacation and immediately buy some other tour.
Guys, what should I do? Help me please.
Your operational advice is very important - there is nowhere to pull, you need to decide on the tour.

A visa is issued only if there is a hotel reservation. Hence the conclusion - no way. You can insure against non-departure - you will lose 5% of the cost of the tour + payment for a visa. Such insurance is not expensive.
Cases are different. They really refuse units.
My civil wife is unemployed, she is under 30, respectively, not married, I have a different surname and nothing, they gave me no problems.
аватар Biker_Oksana
Thank you!
"lose 5% of the cost of the tour" - regardless of whether it costs up to 1000 uo or more?
As far as I know, when a woman travels with a companion (as it was in your case), there are practically no risks of refusal. I'm going ALONE - the devil knows, sorry, what are the reasoning of the migration services on this matter. I panic.

According to their law, I have no right to live in the same hotel room with the "softwife".
When traveling to Greece, the travel agent himself suggested to me to "play it safe", because. the Greek embassy is unpredictable. In the UAE, I relied on chance. I was driving from Natalie Tours, where they assured me that everything would be fine, they had not yet sent such people. With the cost of a tour about $2,500, travel insurance to Greece cost less than $100, but now I can’t say for sure.

I can’t say for 100%, but I read that insurance against non-departure does not work with regards to the UAE, since they do not issue a visa refusal, but simply do not give it without explaining the reasons.
аватар Biker_Oksana
Thanks again.
Oh, how I don’t like this “assured” (((And in case of something - “We don’t owe you anything, we didn’t promise anything.” I have already sued employers for unpaid fees, I know these “promises” orally.

The farther into the forest, the thicker the partisans: "-(((

Naturally, if you are refused by you, TA will not do this. For it is not he who decides for you.
Then go on a private tour with Emirates Airlines. They will issue you a visa for the duration of your stay. That's just one problem. I see you from Ukraine, but the Emirates do not fly there. ((
аватар Biker_Oksana
Another problem is the cost of such an individual tour)))))))))

I have one more news for you, Oksana.
Most of Dubai's beaches are closed to vacationers. The reason was a strong tide, as well as an unprecedented invasion of jellyfish. In recent days, several tourists have been stung by jellyfish.
These incidents happened on several beaches at once. And since the jellyfish do not leave the coast yet, the beaches had to be closed, Russkiy Dom reports. Now only a 200-meter section of the city beach is open and staffed by lifeguards. But even there hang flags and a warning about the dangers of swimming.
According to Emirates247.com, the beaches will be closed for at least a few days, but then the jellyfish may leave, and then all the holiday destinations in Dubai will become available for bathers.
аватар Biker_Oksana
Thanks, Natasha, for the warning. But that scares me less than the visa issue. I don't think the beaches will be closed for another three weeks until I get to the Emirates. + I'm going not only for the beaches-- even more than that, not primarily for them.

Oksana, in addition to everything written above, I can only add my modest experience: I am also over 30, I started traveling there alone since 2005, I never took out travel insurance, there were no visa refusals. I understand that this is not an argument for you, nevertheless I am writing as support for any of your decisions. And good luck to you!

Recently, I have heard more than once about the refusal of a UAE visa from acquaintances, and specifically in the case of unmarried ladies (((There was some kind of tightening with this (((Even those TAs who dealt with these documents are surprised.
аватар Biker_Oksana
Yes, yes, that's what I'm talking about! "Rizika-Music". Not this time, but another time I will go to the UAE - I am already considering another direction;) Vacation without a trip will not work in any case))) Why save money. While there is time to think. Ahhh, I miss the airplanes!
"Recently, I have heard more than once about the refusal of a UAE visa from acquaintances, and in the case of unmarried ladies ((("

Probably, TA are cunning, arguing the opposite ...
аватар Biker_Oksana
Alpusechka, thank you! Why, just an argument)))
аватар tourexpert
Hmm .... just the opposite, I read all the time that now anyone you want is allowed in. I have not seen a single review in which someone tried to return the money for the ticket due to the non-opening of a visa. Usually offended in this way, people turn on the gun and scribble on all forums. In 2011, they did not come across.
Jabetta, maybe you shouldn't scare Oksana?
аватар jabetta
What's the point of being scared? I wrote that I know, because this is exactly what Oksana is waiting for - real information.

By the way, the last case with a refusal - a single woman (over 30) was denied a visa to the UAE. Immediately received a Schengen and went skiing.
аватар bluepink
And in my practice, it is more difficult for men with a visa to the UAE ... A couple of times it happened that a couple was traveling. A woman received a visa a few days ago, and a man - on the day of departure (despite the fact that they choked very early, and not back to back). Or if only men go, then there are also delays, but there have not been any refusals yet.
P.S. I work in TO in the Emirates (!!! do not take it for advertising !!!)

1. Without paying for the tour, no one will even send the docks for a visa.
2. No one can guarantee a visa.
3. As with fires, traffic accidents and other accidents that are beyond our influence - only insurance can save you from losses if a visa is not issued.
4. The current practice of obtaining visas in the UAE is as follows - there are practically no refusals for women traveling with men. The crisis has forced the emirates to become more loyal in this matter.

For travel insurance. And you in Ukraine first find such insurance (not in the words of the manager, but really take it in your hands and read it). Everything will be written there, only in Ukraine I have not seen such a risk as leaving due to non-issuance of a visa and a UAE visa. I faced the problem of both insurance for the elderly and travel restrictions. In words, one thing, but in the rules of insurance - a harsh reality ;-)
Perhaps, in the couple of years that I have not contacted TA, something has changed with insurance ... But you better check it yourself, I think
аватар bluepink
One of the companies that insures against non-departure (including in the UAE) is the European insurance company.
аватар hatinka
HotLine, perhaps, is an exception that proves the rule, but I made out a tour to Greece (not even a tour, but an air + apartment rental) on the terms of full payment immediately after obtaining a visa. This was my first and only requirement. This is a type of ind.tourism, filing three months in advance, but visas were issued TWO days before departure. Yes, it was the fault of the consulate, yes, the TA did not calculate in this way, yes, there were negotiations, yes, we paid immediately after the visas, but if the visas were issued after the plane took off, we would not have lost anything. This is where the manager did the work, since there were no jambs on her part, but she tried to evade the agreements)))
аватар hatinka
bluepink, but I didn’t really find anything about her on the network, and according to EDRPOU she’s somehow tiny, apparently. This company. Are there real insured events under this insurance? And what kind of assistance in the UAE?
аватар hatinka
And what kind of assistance in the UAE does she have? Link to the site, if you know. Thank you!

Specially just consulted with our visa managers for the UAE. They said that there were no refusals (we have very large volumes), but they often insure against not leaving.
Delays in issuance up to the day of departure can also be if you have previously been to such countries as: Chechnya, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel ... And then if you have, be sure to notify the manager.
