mosque tour in abu dhabi
Hello! We are going to Dubai in January, we read a lot of positive reviews about the excursion to the mosque in Abu Dhabi. The question arose - is it better to go there with a travel agency or on your own? If on your own, which route to choose, what transport to use and what else to visit in the vicinity?
Thank you in advance!

we took a tour (Aladdin), the guide was good, he told interestingly, but I think that the same thing can be read on the internet if you wish, and there was no tour in the mosque itself, you can’t talk there, so he told everything before and after the mosque, and it was not always clear what place it was. This excursion also included: a drive to the Ferrari park (generally a useless thing), we went in for 20 minutes, looked, teased and left, then we went there ourselves for the whole day; they missed this village :), they brought us to some other place where they tried to twist carpets for us for gold threads from 1000 bucks, and a good dinner in a 5-star hotel restaurant (dinner was excellent, of course). You decide what interests you and what you like. I realized that I don't like looking at the world through the bus window.. And that it is better to go everywhere by yourself, but you need to be prepared where and how to go. How to get to Abu Dhabi yourself, you can read in my review :), it will be cheaper and I think more interesting.

we took an excursion to the mosque from a tour operator in a hotel for $ 80 per person. and did not regret it. Since we rested there in July, the heat was terrible, we took the bus comfortably everywhere, we saw everything live, it was very interesting with a good guide. , during this time we learned a lot of interesting things about the history of the UAE and about all the emirates separately. The tour itself is from 9.30 to 17.30 with a chic lunch, as they wrote. Personally, my husband and I really liked everything and did not wish the money spent.

You must decide what you want from this excursion. If you are not in favor of telling you how much time to spend on the mosque, do not like to wait until everyone is gathered on the bus, DO NOT LIKE when you are driven - THEN YOUR OPTION is an independent visit !!!
taxi from your hotel to the Al Ghubaiba bus station in Bur Dubai (check the price) - TICKETS TO ABU DHABI bus station (30 dirham 8 $) - taxi to the mosque (27 dirham 7 $)
a trip to ABU DHABI cost us $ 190 for two, but this also included:
- a trip to the FERRARI PARK 450 dirhams entrance 122 dollars for two,
-(45 dirham $12.25) taxi from the mosque in Ferrari,
-(55-60 dirham, $16.5) taxi from FERRARI WORLD back to the bus station
-and bus tickets 50 for two to Sharjah ($12.) HAVE A LOT OF PLEASURE and were not constrained in time.
You pay for the entrance and all the rides and entertainment are free ... everyone did not bypass the VERY BIG park, after all, the largest indoor park in the world))))

We were in Dubai in November 2011, we wanted to take an excursion to Abu Dhabi for the whole day, but it didn’t work out, so we took it for 17 hours, visited the mosque - very beautiful, the village - everyone looked and listened, but I think it was to the mosque it is necessary with a guide, since in groups you will pass faster and more organized, I really regret that I didn’t take it for the whole day, because I really wanted to see the ferari park !! 1 But decide for yourself, have a good rest and impressions! I am sure that the latter threatens you very much !!!!!

To go to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque and to the Ferari Park ONLY by yourself!!!!
From Dubai, from the bus station, there is a chic bus, or a taxi, the taxi driver assured that the bus takes 3 hours, and the car will drive in an hour, fairy tales, hour-hour 15, so what.
The bus stop is right in front of the mosque, one thing is bad before crossing, you have to walk a little or flatter under the cars (
In the mosque, dress code, shorts, T-shirts, tracksuits, etc. are not allowed. the girls were given a veil and forward. There is something to look at and take pictures of in the mosque and on the street. 2 hours is enough, then a taxi for 40 dir and to the Ferrari Park, it works from 11 if my memory serves me right. Change the dollar in advance, the rate in the park is not very profitable.
Water and food will not miss security.
Take a map and mark where you were so that you can visit everything and not go in circles.
The ticket is only for the entrance, and then ride as much as you like.
In the evening, a bus goes directly from Fpark to the bus station, and from it there is a bus to Dubai.
To rest good.

I went on a tour. very sorry. Firstly, you will not have the opportunity to get into the Ferrari Park. Secondly, on the way to the mosque, the tour stops at places where I actually didn’t see anything interesting. If not for the mosque, I was terribly disappointed with this tour. We stopped at the Abu Dhabi Museum of Contemporary Art, stopped on the waterfront, drove into the most expensive area of Abu Dhabi (generally a waste of time), dinner and already at the end of the Mosque. We returned to the hotel around 11. But in my opinion, after Dubai, there is nothing to see in Abu Dhabi.

Thanks everyone for the replies! We have already gone, guided by all the above tips, we went on our own - and did not regret it. Very beautiful place - I recommend to everyone who travels to the UAE to visit!

Tell me, maybe someone went to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque by taxi, how much will it cost? We have a small child, we understand that it makes no sense to take an excursion, it’s also hard to get on the bus, maybe a taxi is the best option? And to visit Dubai and not visit the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, then there is no point in going to the UAE.

We 4 people went to the Mosque from Dubai there by taxi, and back by bus. in time and money EQUALLY,
and more comfort in the bus.
My IMHO is to go by bus, especially with a child.

thanks lkc25. How long does it take to get to the mosque by bus?

If my memory serves me right, then we traveled by taxi and by bus for 1.30 minutes, -1.40 minutes.
If you go by taxi, ALWAYS agree in advance about the price and the place of disembarkation upon arrival, we have a cunning taxi driver who took us almost to the Mosque, didn’t take us a maximum of 300 meters, but 1 but, there is a one-way and a dividing strip, that is, he could not turn around, but go unreal! I had to take another car and for 10 holes move to the opposite side of the road.

We rested in Sharjah at the Al Seef Hotel and this restaurant was located on the 1st floor. We had breakfast at the hotel and usually had dinner there.
I liked the restaurant according to several criteria: a beautiful, European interior, fresh products, well-prepared dishes, not bland, as in some restaurants.
The menu of hot dishes is something like this: dumplings, Uzbek pilaf, dumplings, lagman, cutlets, meat with sauces, tobacco chicken, shish kebab, various types of pasta, soups, etc.
Salads: Olivier, Caesar, Vizier, Greek, herring under a fur coat ... mmm .... my favorite, etc.
Desserts: ice cream, pancakes, Prague cake, Honey cake, etc.
Baking: echpochmaks, chebureks, belyashi, tortillas, etc.
In general, if you like inexpensive and high-quality cooked food, then you are here.
I also heard that there are many different celebrities in the restaurant, friends of the owner of the restaurant.
