Day Eight, long-awaited, December 13.2015

We really needed to go to the sea!

The eighth day in Vietnam, the eleventh day of the journey, we were already so tired that the only dream was the sea. Although the sea itself was in Hoi An and Cat Ba, we still have not swum in it.

And here is the finish line, and the sea is waiting for us very soon - just after two hours of flight)

After breakfast, Ira and I went to the airport in a taxi, which was called for us from the hotel. Igor stayed in Hanoi, then he went to Myanmar, and the two of us flew to Phu Quoc.

At the airport, we encountered an unexpected problem - luggage on this segment was not paid for. Right away, I even tried to argue, because I remember exactly that I paid for luggage when buying a ticket, at $ 6 per 20 kg of weight, but after examining these tickets in more detail, I see that I did it myself and there is no one to blame. Why the luggage turned out to be unpaid and how I didn’t notice it right away, I can’t imagine. I don’t like the number 13. But you need to get out of the situation quickly and preferably with the least losses.

We take out a large bag and unload everything heavy from two suitcases into it. We tamp tighter and backpacks. Suitcases become noticeably lighter, but they are still available and must be paid separately. They write us a piece of paper with weight and price, and we pay at a completely inhumane price - 550.000 dong for 20 kg of total weight. That is, we paid twice as much . . for half the weight. In total, the cost of luggage at the time of check-in jumps 4 times! This is a very important point when flying with VietJetAir. The company transports very cheaply, but additional "goodies" can cost a pretty penny. Therefore, you need to carefully check whether the checkbox is ticked in the order, so that there is no overpayment at the airport later.

The rest of the flight goes smoothly, in Fukuoka we take a taxi and after 15 minutes and 132 kilodong we are at the hotel.

I love the first moment you arrive at a beach hotel. The long-awaited first step in paradise) Greenery and air trembling from the heat. Smell of the South. Laziness and bliss. There are 6 days of rest ahead, almost a whole vacation, it's so much fun! ) We won't do anything. We will lie by the sea and eat fruit)

Our house, or as these buildings are proudly called by the hotels themselves - bungalows, is located in the most beautiful place - opposite the entrance to the pool.

There is a very comfortable folding chair on the porch, although it is not clear why one. On the side are two chairs and a table. Slippers in Vietnamese hotels are reusable. A little worn)

The room is cozy, everything is there, even a fan with air conditioning) The closet seemed small to us and our luggage was still quite modest. If you come specifically for a beach holiday with two suitcases of outfits, then there will be nowhere to put things.

Nice, small area

We go to the beach through a nearby hotel. It is smaller than ours and the journey takes two minutes.

The beach is wonderful, never crowded. The sea is gentle, shallow, there are no waves at all.

Like everywhere in Vietnam, the New Year is already in full swing here)

By evening, tables of a fish restaurant appear near the water.

It seems to me that this restaurant has the most delicious food in Fukuoka. This is fish and coconut soup. All my life I dreamed of eating fish with milk. You need to scoop rice into a spoon and dip it into the soup, the liquid instantly soaks it. Very tasty food!

And very fresh) Although in Vietnam in general and on this island in particular it is hard to imagine stale food.

And it's definitely very romantic here.

We are almost sitting with our feet in the sea, the sunset begins, a light breeze blows from the sea, diluting the evening humidity of Asia, and the soul cannot but rejoice at such splendor.

The sunset greeted us with magical colors. We definitely enjoyed Fukuoka! )

Phu Quoc is the largest Vietnamese island. It is summer here all year round and you can actually relax all year round. True, in the summer there is a rainy season, but people do not particularly complain. Prices are falling, it rains mostly at night, that is, you can live. Another attack may be on Fukuoka - biting and stinging organisms) Basically it is stinging plankton and jellyfish. Here they just happen in the high season, especially in February, and pricing is a little incomprehensible to me in this case, because jellyfish probably spoil a beach holiday. In December, there are no jellyfish, and plankton is sometimes found. You immediately get nervous when some crap pinches you under a swimsuit, and then you get used to it and don’t pay attention. In December, it does not get bold and is rare.

But the land comrades certainly got it.

In the evening, on the terrace of a bungalow and on the seashore, in a beach restaurant, mosquitoes, midges, sand fleas bit me to the point of insanity, I constantly dragged myself around with Advantan ointment and smeared the bites. Surely a repellent would have helped more, but for some reason I didn’t think of buying it) The strangest thing is that after biting for decency Ira a couple of times, they furiously attacked me, as if I were a particularly tasty morsel)

I am very glad that the trip to Vietnam took place, that we drove, swam, flew many, many kilometers and saw such a different and such a beautiful Vietnam! But I am no less happy with a beach holiday! ) I still love to soak up under a palm tree in the middle of winter)

Don't switch! It's not all about Fukuoka. I will tell you about the wonderful amusement park Winperland where real mermaids live in aquariums and about Bounty beach - Bai Sao. And so, in detail, how the most resort island of Vietnam lives.
