Rested in "Solva" family with 2 children from 01 to 14 August 2015. In general - the place is excellent, but you should not expect a high level of service, you will not find it there. Although the hotel was fully occupied!
From the pros:
- good infrastructure of the hotel: a large well-groomed area on the outskirts of the village with flower beds and beautiful trees, surrounded by forest, with a mini zoo with roe deer and rabbits, spacious and well-equipped rooms (at the same time, it seemed to us that in the standard and twin rooms in which we rested, the layout of the bathrooms has not been finalized (there are no shelves for detergents and cosmetics, hooks for clothes, and the nickel-plated shelf in the shower is rusty), a solid finish of the building (a lot of marble, high-quality materials, crystal chandeliers, etc. ), a well-equipped gym, pools ( outdoor and indoor with different hydromassage functions), tennis courts;

- the design of the service is quite flexible: the ability to choose the format of accommodation and treatment (for the first time I meet so that you can change the format from the basic “bed-breakfast” to “full board” on certain days), there is no cyclicality as in sanatoriums (i. e. you can arbitrarily plan the date of arrival and departure), the administrators at the reception are quite client-oriented (we had to leave a day earlier - no problems and fines), all hotel services can be received on the room with subsequent payment.
- good nature: forest and clean air;
- mineral water pump room "Polyana Kvasova" in the hotel;
- free parking on site.
Minuses:
- service - leaves much to be desired: the rooms are cleaned irregularly, detergents are not changed when they run out, dirty tablecloths can not be changed in the restaurant after visitors, the breakfast buffet is unstable (interruptions in dishes, although everything is tasty and varied according to the idea, as well as with dishes), for lunch and dinner, the complex needs to wait 20 minutes (why they don’t make a buffet for that kind of money), and even more on the menu, the food is mediocre and expensive, in the hut on the hotel’s territory, the food is also mediocre, in general, in we only had breakfast at the hotel (we found at the entrance to the village of Polyana from the side of Svalyava in front of the bridge the Ekaterina restaurant in the hotel of the same name: the interior is unsightly there, but the food is excellent, we went there every day for lunch: there are a dozen dishes on the menu, but everything is of excellent quality, thanks to good cook and fresh products, they have their own trout farm there);
- lack of capacity of the medical department: massage did not work out for the first week (experienced people order services in advance of arrival), in general, work is only up to 2 hours, the doctor's office is a kennel with no windows of 6 square meters;
- declared wi-fi throughout the hotel worked up to 70%, and in the rooms - less than half the time;
- the pump room with mineral water often did not work, as in other things the idea is good, but the execution is idiotic: there are 6 taps (each with a separate dosage and temperature), which are turned on by a magnetic card, but there are 3 cards and only on the reception, what is written on the indicator near the tap is not true, the water either does not turn off and flows in a stream, then it is not there;

- the rooms are quite noisy and it is uncomfortable to be (especially sleeping) with open windows: at first we lived in a room on the back side of the building there around the clock (except for a couple of hours at night) the pumping and compressor station, which is constantly buzzing; a week later, at our request, we were moved to a room with windows from the facade, it is generally quieter there, but every day at 6.30. morning and at 22.30. evenings included noisy installations for watering flowerbeds, in addition, every day until 7 in the morning they brought staff to the very porch in cars that are also very noisy when driving through the paved area, then in the middle of the night vacationers make noise and no one reacts to them, in general, you can’t get enough sleep succeeded;
- payment in the hotel only in cash!?
- there are not enough sun loungers near the outdoor pool and it feels like they were bought at sales (more than a dozen types), etc.
I think that the hotel has a huge potential to become a 5-star hotel, due to the location and existing infrastructure, while the owner needs to hire a qualified manager with experience in creating and providing impeccable service, supplement the restaurant and medical center with staff so that there is no long waiting time, invite an excellent cook, so that people do not look for where to eat and ensure that all the staff of the hotel and recreational complex work efficiently and are focused on providing impeccable service. I wish good luck to the owner and staff of Solva, and those who plan to go there should not wait for something exquisite, but enjoy the wonderful nature and infrastructure, turning a blind eye to a lot of shortcomings associated with the service.
