Winter in Yaremche
We rented a house in Yaremche for the New Year. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the house from the city center. It didn’t bother us, because we wanted to enjoy the beautiful views from the window.
Elephant rock. They say that you can see this animal in the outlines of the rock. But rather in the summer, in the winter they could not see it)
Yaremche is a small town, you can see all the interesting sights in a few days.
Probiy Waterfall on the Prut River. Above, near the bridge over the river, there is a souvenir market. We bought woolen socks, sheepskin overlays for chairs, a carved wooden plate, Carpathian tea. Below - tourists on slippery stones, risking falling through the ice into the icy water.
A working railway bridge across the Prut River. Its height is 65 m. It was built at the end of the 19th century, it was destroyed during the Great Patriotic War, later restored, but without its former scope.
Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist.
Hotels and cottages.
Park-museum "Carpathians in miniature" on the banks of the river Zhonka. There are mountain ranges, Mount Hoverla, lakes, churches, railway tunnels and other monuments of Hutsul architecture. Conduct a tour where you can learn something interesting for yourself and plan a trip to some sights from this museum)
In January, all the miniatures were covered in snow.
This is a miniature of the famous wooden restaurant Hutsulshchyna. It is known for being built without a single nail.
Mini zoo. There you can buy food or bring your own and feed deer and roe deer from your hands. The zoo has different types of birds, foxes, wild boars and piglets.
There is a beautiful lake with swans. On the shore you can sit, admire nature and relax on carved wooden benches, swings, gazebos, ride a sleigh with horses.
We devoted half a day to an independent excursion along the Dovbush trail. It is difficult to get lost, because there are signs on the trees where to go.
The path climbs the stone steps uphill between centuries-old firs, beeches, goes along the roots of trees. Peace and quiet. You get charged with energy and emotions! ) On the trail there are sculptural compositions, heaps of stone blocks that form caves, terraces. And somewhere in the rocks the gold of the "Hutsul Robin Hood" Oleksa Dovbush is hidden! )
You can spend 2-3 days in Yaremche, and then go on excursions.
We were on a bus tour in Verkhovyna in the house-museum of the movie "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors". Director Sergei Parajanov lived here when the film was being shot.
After the guide's story, it was possible to take pictures in Hutsul costumes. Arriving home, I immediately reviewed Parajanov's film and re-read Kotsiubinsky's book)
There is also the Museum of Hutsul magic, which contains items that were used by molfars - healers. They treated people with prayers and incantations, magic rituals, magic violin and drymba music. Presented are the personal belongings of the famous healer molfar Nechay, who, thanks to his ability, could keep clear weather (which is important in the Carpathian mountains)
I bought a drymba, but it doesn’t immediately turn out to make pleasant sounds and my lips get tired quickly)
This is another musical instrument of the Hutsuls - trembita, which calls people both in sorrow and in joy)
The winter Carpathians, like the summer ones, are fascinating and beautiful!
We were also in Bukovel, skiing, snowtubing, ski lifts.
Now in the plans - Hoverla, Synevyr and bathing in vats)
