Objectively about Sudak in 2013
I want to write a short review about the rest in the Crimea. Every year I go with my soul mate to the May holidays in the Crimea. To do this, we work hard in March and April, run for tickets, travel in stuffy trains ...It's really great here, BUT I'm getting more and more disappointed in this place every time. It's a matter of many things. Firstly, in terms of prices (I’ll make a reservation that I earn enough, but local prices knock me down from arrogance), I have long forgotten about Crimea as a place for annual summer recreation, it’s very expensive: accommodation is not worth the money that is ripped off for funny conditions local residents, in season the price of a normal more or less room, a house rises to 50-60 dollars, and often they offer just air-conditioned walls, in many places there are not even towels and elementary shampoo and soap must be dragged from the house.
That is, the conditions are like on the Sea of Azov in Sedovo or Milekino (of course there are exceptions for such money - but there are few of them, where it is clean, and the owners work off their money). Further food: in Sudak on Cypress Alley, it is generally dangerous to eat in almost all places - dirt, unsanitary conditions, it’s good if you just suffer from metiorism and colic ...prices, sorry, fucking, for example, on May 2, we were in the Shinok establishment, in the middle of the cypress alley, I forgot about the prices borscht - 33 UAH, vegetable salad - 45 UAH, that is, you can leave a lot of money there, go hungry, well, the owners of this miracle are unlikely to be interested in this, and it was very uncomfortable, dressed in national costumes, the waitresses behaved like prostitutes - rzhach standing wild! A pleasant place is the Cypress Alley cafe, the prices are more moderate, and the cuisine is cleaner and tastier.
And you can also visit a cafe at the end of the Riviera embankment, the prices are high, but they cook deliciously, although the waiters behave a little loosely ...Taxi: this is space transport - around the city 25-30 UAH, wherever you go, the concept of "landing" and " mileage ”taxi drivers basically don’t understand, very impudent people, in short, if you don’t like to walk, or are in a hurry somewhere, this is an additional expense item in your vacation. We were too lazy to ride in a full bus from Sudak to Novy Svet (about 6-7 km), so we paid 80 UAH one way and the same amount back, it’s worth it to go there, decide for yourself! Every year we go to different places in Crimea for May holidays, and so, compared to Alushta and Yalta, Sudak really loses in terms of service, people knock down money for services that, to put it mildly, are lousy!
From the sights of the Fortress and Novy Svet - three colored bays, the Golitsyn trail, BUT DO NOT BUY excursions - it's fantastically inconvenient and expensive: 1) it's sooooo expensive, buy an entrance ticket to the fortress for 30 UAH and walk as much as you like, a lot is written there on the walls, well, on the Internet, you read about who built it and when, and listening to the tedious gundezh of a historian is expensive longing ...To the New World, if you get on the trail before 7.00, then firstly you will take cool pictures of the people a little, no one fuss and in the frame no one shines, and you don’t have to pay for the entrance, free entry. And again, it’s not worth going on an excursion, firstly, they drag in the heat, it’s honestly hard to jump in the heat in the mountains, then go down and up, narrow paths almost everywhere JUST WILL NOT ALLOW you to hear your guide if he only goes with a mouthpiece! Go for a walk - it's beautiful!
I’m all for what, people, it’s really unprofitable to relax in the summer - the prices are very high for everything !! ! In Kyiv, Donetsk, Lvov in the city center, food is cheaper than here. There will be lines EVERYWHERE: to the toilet, there is nowhere to fall on the beach, there are also crowds for breakfast, dinner and lunch, we buy a ticket to Egypt to Sharm or Hurghada in September to a 4-star hotel, all inclusive, with a flight - and there is MUCH more expensive COOLER sea, reef, food is not a problem, even a taxi is cheaper. Decide for yourself, but I basically don’t go to the Crimea in the summer - it’s not worth that kind of money. I appeal to the local population, you are offended that fewer people come to you, it's all about attitude, the tourism business is very risky and unstable, even difficult in places, only on condition that it is worked out, and I will notice that this is not so! Your work is no easier than a miner, railway worker, metallurgist, power engineer.
After all, most of the locals work for themselves and do not pay any taxes, I am amazed at the local authorities, who find the means and opportunities to still maintain the Crimea at the proper level, repairing the same roads, after driving around Ukraine, I’ll be honest - there are good roads in Crimea !!!
Summing up ...I’ll say that Sudak is a city of disappointment ...there is little entertainment, a little dirty (in terms of cafes and restaurants there are very few decent ones), according to the pricing policy at the Yalta level regarding everything - accommodation, food, travel. The local population ...somehow objectively I want to write: there are a lot of good people, even friendly, but there are no hospitable people in principle, the people are generally kind of angry, I don’t know why and with whom, it’s unpleasant! I got the impression that in Sudak you have to pay extra for a smile !!!
The rooms are rarely cleaned from check-in to check-in, the rest falls on the shoulders of vacationers, that is, we pay only for the walls, but then the service ends, but then it should cost less, no?!! ! With pleasure I will be convinced of the opposite, I hope that Crimea will return its face and conscience.
