The sun, the sea, the air, where you can sleep well and eat well - that's all about the Izumrud boarding house. The place is very beautiful, lots of greenery. Meals - a buffet, as for me, the best option, you can always choose what suits you. The rooms are basic, the view from the window is gorgeous.

We have been going to the boarding house for several years. The location in Laspi Bay and a large area with its own beach cover not very fresh "Soviet" repairs and tired rooms with furniture. Food 550 rub. per person for breakfast-lunch-dinner does not seem to be over the limit, but for this money you will get a not very diverse, but quite satisfying menu. The portions are sufficient not to be hungry, but if you want something like that, then there is a cafe on the territory. I liked the cafe, which is located by the sea, next to the billiards, I don’t remember the name. They cook delicious food, there is a barbecue menu, comfortable gazebos. But the cafe San Morino, which is next to building 2, did not like the attitude. We ordered food for the child in advance, lean, because there was greasy food in the dining room that day, but we still could not feed the child in this "hospitable" cafe. We were late for 15 minutes from the appointed time, and the hostess, without blinking, said with an eye that since you did not come on time, she had already sold our lunch to others. To my objections that the child was ordered in advance and asked to make lenten borscht, it was said that there was no need to be late. There was no limit to my indignation, the hostess was sent by the forest, they didn’t go to this “wonderful” place anymore, since there are quite cozy cafes nearby. And so the rest left only positive emotions and impressions.

We decided to stop by the boarding house "Izumrud" (city of Sevastopol), which is in Laspi Bay, not far from Foros, and stay in a brick building No. 2 built in the mid-80s, where I once rested as a child. On the website http://www. emerald. in. ua found out that a standard room at this time, i. e. the end of May (off season) costs 230 UAH. /day for two with a view of the mountains and 250 UAH. / day - with sea views. Having called the numbers indicated on the website in order to book such a room, I did not get to the reception desk of the Emerald (as it turned out later, the reception was simply not there), but to the office of some Sevastopol travel agency, whose representative said that I should book a room at the Emerald no need, just come and settle in because it’s not the season. Upon arrival, "Emerald" met us with drizzling rain, cold and the complete absence of any staff on the territory of the boarding house. After an hour of wandering around building No. 2, we met a woman manager who said that such a room as we want costs not 230/250 UAH. per day, but 460! To my righteous dissatisfaction with the exorbitant price and its discrepancy with the price indicated on the website, the woman expressed extreme indignation and said that if we did not want to book a room, we could go to all four directions, because in the season it would still pay off. Struck by rudeness and dejected by the soviet atmosphere prevailing not only in building No. 2, but throughout the boarding house, I decided to move on in search of shelter, but my tired colleague persuaded me to stay. Having paid a lot of money, we settled in a room with a sea view. There were no complaints about the room, not counting its exorbitant cost. I note that at that time it was still cold in Crimea and there were no people on the territory of the boarding house at all (the next day several Sevastopol families pulled up). The territory of the boarding house is a miserable, wretched and dilapidated sight. When walking, I got the impression that I was transported by a time machine to the 80s, but there were no people around. Canteen was not open. The nearest working cafe "Fondue" was found in Foros, which is 15 kilometers from the "Emerald" towards Yalta (not counting the long ascent to the highway and descent to the sea). Lunch at Fondue cost us about 400 UAH. per person (!!! ) This is for the first, "meat" with garnish, salad and tea. I note that the so-called. "meat" was disgusting, stale and absolutely unfit for consumption, although it pulled most of the bill. Then we went for a walk around Yalta with a stop in Simeiz, as a result of which I found out that the prices for food in cafes throughout the South Coast are about the same - that is, unrealistically overpriced, and the quality of the dishes is terrible. The only identified place where you can have a good lunch at reasonable prices (120-150 UAH for two) is a dining room on the Yalta embankment. Finally, once again I want to note the attitude of the staff of the boarding house "Izumrud" to the 2nd actually the only guests at that time and ask the readers of the review the following question: "Do we need this miserable Crimea, and even for that kind of money and with such a service, if possible for much less money to go to Turkey and have a great all-inclusive Mediterranean vacation there? "

I liked that the territory is closed, large, a lot of greenery, its own infrastructure. There are bars, and a restaurant, and a disco, and a mini-market, and 2 shops, and 2 canteens, buildings of different comfort. In the high season there are a lot of people, but because of the large territory it is quite normal.

In the high season there are a lot of people, but because of the large territory it is quite normal. 3 of its beaches are quite good, you can relax under a canopy, and in the shade of trees, but a little further from the water. I really liked the sea - transparent, clean. For children there are playgrounds, a lot of places where to walk. In general, I will go there again. Of the minuses - although there were air conditioners in the dining room - it was still unbearably hot. By the variety of food - I had enough, I bought fruits separately. Meals by the way, you can order a separate breakfast buffet for each day separately. And at the end of the season - it was immediately evident that the attitude towards vacationers is changing... PS Parking and sun loungers on the beach - for a fee.
