I won't come here for the second time.
I am surprised to read rave reviews about Privetnoye and, in particular, about the Katran Recreational Center (as it is called on the road sign), although I respect other people's opinions. I didn’t like Privetnoy and Katran (not a hotel, but a resort) and here’s why.
We went there for the first time, so that our son, 2 years old, had a rest. We were advised apartments with a kitchen on the beach. There are no complaints about the apartments, but everything around is a lot of "pichaleks" . The nearby Kanaka resort is just Yalta and Miami in one bottle compared to this place.
Firstly, Katran itself is a kind of Chinese quarter measuring 300 by 300 meters (the randomness and density of the building does not allow describing more precisely), located below the Alushta-Sudak highway and below the village of Privetnoye. There is no centralized parking as such (although there is no way to get there except by car), so everyone puts cars where they please. For money, the guards (i. e. , local Tatars) let cars into the territory of the quarter, so cars scurry along the narrow streets, and then they park, I saw cars even in the middle of a cafe, even pasties were laid out on them. Taking into account the fact that 99% of vacationers there with small children is at least strange, you won’t let your child go away for a second, because even a Gazelle can emerge from any arch.
Almost every boathouse or mini-hotel has barbecues, where every evening someone makes a barbecue. Therefore, gentlemen, motorists, be prepared for the fact that on your hood, while you are swimming, someone will cut meat or arrange bottles (I saw it myself : ).
Despite the abundance of children, there is no first-aid post, or at least a nurse, either in Katran or in Privetnoye. For medical assistance, you will have to take a child along a mountain serpentine for 27 km to Sudak to a children's clinic (and this is not at all 27 km on a flat road !!! )
Katran itself is in a semi-unfinished state, every second mini-hotel is being built. Well, at least not right now, so there is no construction equipment there, they are building in the winter. The cafes are also half-finished, except for beer in the cafe itself there is nothing, there are no kitchens, food is brought FROM SOMEONE IN PACKS!! ! I haven't tried it, but when I saw it, I decided not to try it.
There is no infrastructure - no parks, no shops where to sit, no embankment, no playgrounds, no other children's entertainment. There is also no place to walk. Children from 3 years old and adults are frankly bored there. Although there are no night discos - it is quiet at night, thank God. Privetnoye itself resembles footage from a chronicle of the 70s and 80s of the 20th century - dirt, dust, one-story dirty houses, a wrecked post office and a village council, a mini-bazaar and shops that for some reason do not work on weekends! ? They don't want our money? This is not the case in other resort towns and cities.
There are no ATMs in the village, there are no safes in hotels, so you had to carry money with you to the beach and worry about its safety.
Be prepared for the outrageous rudeness of local bourgeois owners of boathouses and hotels, who, in a deranged drunken state, can easily quarrel with guests, send them to such and such a mother, ride ATVs over the heads and legs of guests, and make this a wonderful anti-advertising for their Katran.
To summarize: Privetnoe is a vacation for a family with a small child (up to 3 years old) very close to the clear sea in a quiet place, with a complete lack of beautiful nature, resort infrastructure, parking, catering and other achievements of civilization. We won't go there again.
