Hello! Rested in the hotel "Alexandria" from 9 to 21 August with a child of 6 years. I decided to share my impressions about Katsiveli and Alexandria, maybe my review will be useful to someone. I will try to objectively describe all the pros and cons.
So the pros:
1. Before the trip, I looked through the Internet for a long time, chose between 4 options and decided on the Alexandria Hotel. Liked the photos and reviews. We were pleasantly surprised that the photos and information are 100% true. Although we arrived 2 hours early, we were seated immediately, without delay. The hotel fell in love with itself as soon as they crossed the threshold: a cool hall with comfortable armchairs and sofas, a silent elevator, polite and smiling girls at the reception desk and even a stand with umbrellas.

2. We had a two-room apartment. The room is exactly as shown on the website! Probably even better! Big, with new good furniture, huge balconies. The sea view is simply beyond words! You wake up and right from the bed you look at the sea surface.
3. Just threw the suitcases, as the child was dragged into the pool. Despite the fact that we were in August, contrary to my fears, there was no hype at the pool (apparently most tourists went to the beach). There were always free sunbeds and towels. By the way, the man at the pool just amazed us with his efficiency. Whenever we arrive, he cleans, washes, folds something. The same goes for maid girls. They don't sit idle for a minute. They clean the rooms as they put up the appropriate sign, which we were warned about at the reception. We posted the sign every other day. Cleaning was carried out qualitatively: towels, linen were changed, dishes were washed, and the shower cubicle was rubbed. In general, not every hotel has seen such a clean area.
4. There is a fairly large playground. Our child spent a lot of time there and managed to make friends with many children. Many times they were taken to the cinema right in the hotel. The little one really liked it.
5. To the sea is really 5 minutes at a slow pace. True, go down the hill there, but back up. This is the nearest beach, under the plate.
6. We had our own kitchenette in the room, so we cooked ourselves or, if we were on excursions, had a bite to eat in city cafes. We also went to the hotel restaurant a couple of times. They cook well, but a small selection of children's menu. I didn't see any dirty dishes. Prices are low, comparable to prices in inexpensive Yalta cafes.
7. You can order excursions right in the hotel lobby, which is convenient - you don't have to run far for tickets. We went on excursions ourselves, so as not to depend on the crowd of tourists like us.
8. The hotel has a gym with good exercise equipment (so my husband said, I don’t understand this myself).
Now about the minuses (you can’t even call them minuses. So, small remarks):

1. There is little entertainment in the village and almost no infrastructure: a couple of cafes, several shops, a fruit and vegetable market for 10 tents, a post office. If you want to buy meat, medicines, you have to go to Simeiz (fortunately, it’s a 10-minute drive).
2. I was embarrassed by the confusion with sunbeds on the nearest beach: either one day they are there, then the next day they are not. Although it must be admitted, the beach is wide, with medium-sized pebbles, and you could always find a free place. A couple of times we went to the beach of some sanatorium or boarding house. There is a better beach, but to go to it hoo!
3. Breakfasts in "Alexandria" could be better. We don’t eat porridge, but in addition to porridge, they offered either an omelet, or a casserole, or scrambled eggs, plus cheese-butter-bread. But everything is fresh - and okay.
4. The air conditioners in the rooms did not cool much. The temperature in the room did not fall below 26 degrees.
For our family, the pros of spending a vacation at the Alexandria Hotel outweighed the cons. They came home tanned, satisfied with the rest, with the idea of returning to Katsiveli without fail.
There was a bit of a commotion on our last day at the hotel. Later I found out that it was on the very day when we were leaving that Baskov arrived at the hotel. Terribly upset that they missed each other like that.
